Buffalo wings are such an ingrained part of American culture that, if you didn't already know, you'd assume that their origin dates back further than to 1964, when Teressa Bellissimo prepared the first batch for a voracious group of her son's friends in the kitchen of Anchor Bar in Buffalo, N.Y.
It's hard to imagine life without such a culinary creation that's so versatile that it can be created in hundreds of styles, served boneless or bone-in, taste great with dozens of dips, and served as either an appetizer or a meal. Wings are now on the menu at virtually every bar that serves food, at pizza chains, and even at upscale restaurants. Just 47 years after being introduced to the world, most Americans have several wing options just a phone call away....

Good. They sucked.
I can't die until I get back south to any Wild Wing location for a plate of wings with lethal-levels of Braveheart wing sauce; washed down with a 22-ounce Newcastle. I'd prefer Pilsner Urquell, but the SOB's don't have it on tap. :-(
Wings: a by-product turned into a billion dollar industry. Too much effort for a few bites, and pricey for what you get.
Yup - Central Government planning would never come up with a creative plan like this...capitalism at it’s best!
I get the tenders tossed in my favorite sauce...no bone. :-)
“Good. They sucked.”
They were replaced with a Thai restaurant. I haven’t tried it yet, but I hear it isn’t bad.
Just as with ribs,
the bone adds flavor
and working for each morsel
is half the fun.
Never seen anything done by any darn T4xan improve wings. Just another stupid brag by a Texan who can’t prove what he’s saying.
In Atlanta the best wings IMHO are at Manuel’s Tavern, Taco Mac’s and Three Dollar Cafe. I feel a wing fling coming on. LOL!
My wife is a hard-core wing girl...bones are clean as a whistle when she is done with them. She likes 'em hot, but leaves the real serious sweating and screaming to me...

True enough!
I don’t know about Frank’s recipe, but his hot sauce is easily bested by Crystal . If Crystal is unavailable, use Bull or Louisiana. Anything is better than Frank’s except Texas Pete’s.
I used to make wings all the time but haven't in about two years. I simply can't afford them. A bag of frozen ones costs the same or more than the same amount of boneless chicken breasts. No thanks. I'd rather buy meat than bones.
I add lemon or lime juice (lime beats lemon hands down) so that goes along with the vinegar thought of a bit of acid to round out the flavor.
Salt and pepper the wings and into the deep fryer. Toss cooked wings in a mixture of Louisiana hot sauce, melted butter, lime juice and a squirt of honey. I used to bake them off but can’t wait for that extra step. Good eats.
Ref. post #19.
You are crazy.
I bet you put beans in your chili.
I was actually going to come back and correct my statement before getting jumped but got sidelined by some football. I agree absolutely there is nothing better than the pizza we had in the Northeast. Can’t say I’ve ever had clam chowder and the recipes I’ve seen for yankee potroast don’t seem much different than what I grew up with. Agree Philly Cheesesteaks are incredible but carvel ice cream is just ice cream - nothing special. I also like Sam Adams beer, but would put Shiner up against it. I’ve had yoo hoo and can’t see why an adult would think that was something to mention. But I will revise my previous statement- I have had some great food while living in the northeast but come on, truly you don’t believe people think of New England when claiming where the best cooks in the country live do you?
I saw your post about what a brat you were as a child - doesn’t appear you have improve much in the manners department. My post was a joke and most here recognized it as such, I’m sorry you are slow. Merry Christmas anyway.
