Yeah but Im in Texas where we take those yankee recipes and improve on them... ;^)
Look, I admire Texas for its many virtues, but you folks have not
"improved"
New Haven Pizza
Philly Cheesesteaks
New England Clam Chowder
Yankee Pot Roast (no, chicken frying it is NOT improving it)
Yoo-Hoo
Moxie (official beverage of Main)
Carvel ice cream
Rheingold, Knickerbocker and Sam Adams Beer (Lone Star beer only competes with Koch's Holiday Beer, Piels and Wiesel Pis
Also, taking something and making it bigger, in and of itself, is NOT improving it.
Fine steaks, beef ribs, some southern cuisine and Tex-Mex is enough to crow about.

I was actually going to come back and correct my statement before getting jumped but got sidelined by some football. I agree absolutely there is nothing better than the pizza we had in the Northeast. Can’t say I’ve ever had clam chowder and the recipes I’ve seen for yankee potroast don’t seem much different than what I grew up with. Agree Philly Cheesesteaks are incredible but carvel ice cream is just ice cream - nothing special. I also like Sam Adams beer, but would put Shiner up against it. I’ve had yoo hoo and can’t see why an adult would think that was something to mention. But I will revise my previous statement- I have had some great food while living in the northeast but come on, truly you don’t believe people think of New England when claiming where the best cooks in the country live do you?
