I still have the original 45. They played it at my birthday party. We even had a special dance for it. Life is good!

Some of my favorite doo-woppers from Los Angeles:
- The Man from Utopia--Donald Woods & the Vel-Aires, 1955
(apparently inspired by Utopia Cleaners in Watts, Calif.)
- You're Heavanly--The Saigons, 1955
- Don't Take Your Love From Me--The Calvanes, 1955
- Oop Shoop--The Queens, 1954
- Baby Darling--Richard Berry & the Dreamers, 1955
- Tell Me--The Gassers, 1956
- A Casual Look--The Six Teens, 1956
- Blue Mood--Julie Stevens & the Premiers, 1956
- Guided Missiles--The Cuff Links, 1956
- Beep-Beep-Beep--Bobby Day & the Satellites, 1958

My favorite by Dion & the Belmonts--
I Can't Go On, from the summer of 1958

Whenever a aged hippie talks to me about Woodstock and how meaningful it was, I always like to remind him/her that Sha Na Na played there, where they were followed on stage by jimi Hendrix. Sort of puts the whole “Three Days of Peace and Music” thing in perspective.

Rock N Rolls been going downhill ever since Buddy Holly died.Buddy's dead? Why didn't somebody tell me?
(He played a J-45 when he wasn't playing his Stratocaster; and yes, I've left a guitar pick at his grave in Lubbock. Twice. Hasn't everyone?).
