If Gingrich is the answer, Tea Party has failed

NEWT GINGRICH is the latest unlikely figure to vault to the top of Republican presidential polls, and unlike those who preceded him - Donald Trump, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Herman Cain - hes likely to stick around. Thats partly due to necessity. With just a month until the Iowa caucuses, conservatives dont have time to anoint a new savior. Its also because, despite his copious shortcomings, he seems immune to what felled the others. An able debater, he wont flop like Perry and Cain. Hes not a full-on nut like Trump. And his legislative record eclipses Bachmanns, which barely exists.
But his late emergence as the true conservative poised to challenge Mitt Romney is rich, and its broader significance underappreciated. For two years, the driving force in national politics has been the Tea Party, whose founding myth was that ordinary citizens were rising up in defiant objection to the hidebound, self-dealing ways of Washington. Greedy politicians, this view held, had bloated the government and lined their own pockets at taxpayers expense, while letting the country go to rot.

Gingrich position on Gun Control
The Second Amendment: Individual or Collective Right?
Gingrich is a firm advocate of a citizen’s right to bear arms.
“The right to bear arms is not about hunting. It’s not about target practice ... The right to bear arms is a political right designed to safeguard freedom so that no government can take away from you the rights that God has given you, and it was written by people who had spent their lifetime fighting the greatest empire in the world and they knew that if they had not had the right to bear arms, they would have been enslaved. And they did not want us to be enslaved. And that is why they guaranteed us the right to protect ourselves. It is a political right of the deepest importance to the survival of freedom in America.”

You’re not going to dig the entrenched out of Washington in one or two elections. It’s just not going to happen.
The more true conservative governors and congressmen we elect will increase our chances, and if we stay the course we’ll eventually have a steady stream of conservative presidents.
If Obama is kicked to the curb next year, and Congress is controlled by (mostly) Tea Party Republicans, the Tea Party will be a HUGE success.

Nominating Newt will get Obama re-elected, so both statements are true.

Yeah, because the Individual Mandate, Limited Amnesty, TARP, Cap-n-Trade, Global Warming, et all are all principles shared by the Tea-Party!"
Newt's main problem is that he is too analytic.
He sees the good and bad about every issue.
He doesn't think in absolutes.
He admits that he doesn't know whether there is global warming or if it's partially man made.
My position is that I welcome any global warming, man made or other.
It is highly preferrable to global cooling.
Newt's position on Energy Independemce wipes out cap and trade.
He is precisely on track with Sarah Palin and the Tea Party.
Newt's position on illegal aliens is measured and logical.
He is the logical man. He doesn't let his emotions rule him like most people.
Newt will encourage spending cuts and use Lean Six Sigma principles to save trillions in wasted money.
As a principled technocrat, Gingrich is light years ahead of any of his colleagues in understanding how the future can be shaped.
He is a proactive innovator.

Newt's position on Energy Independemce wipes out cap and trade.
Which one, he's got a million of them.
1989: Rep. Newt Gingrich (R-GA) co-sponsors the ambitious Global Warming Prevention Act (H.R. 1078), which finds that the Earths atmosphere is being changed at an unprecedented rate by pollutants resulting from human activities, inefficient and wasteful fossil fuel use, and the effects of rapid population growth in many regions, that global warming imperils human health and well-being and calls for policies to reduce world emissions of carbon dioxide by at least 20 percent from 1988 levels by 2000. The legislation recognizes that global warming is a major threat to political stability, international security, and economic prosperity. [H.R. 1078, 2/22/1989]
1992: Gingrich calls the environmental proposals in Al Gores book Earth in Balance devastatingly threatening to most American pocketbooks and jobs. [National Journal, 9/5/92]
1996: At a speech for the Detroit Economic Club, Gingrich mocks Al Gores global warming, citing the largest snowstorm in New York Citys history: We were in the middle of budget negotiations; the football games were coming up and we noticed on the weather channel that an early symptom of Al Gores global warming was coming to the East Coast. And it does make you wonder sometimes, doesnt it, how theoretical statisticians in the middle of the largest snowstorm in New York Citys history could stand there and say, I dont care what its doing. Its going to get very hot soon. [FDCH Political Transcripts, 1/16/96]
1997: As Speaker of the House, Gingrich co-sponsors H. Con. Res. 151, which notes carbon dioxide is a major greenhouse gas that comes from products whose manufacture consumes fossil fuels and calls on the United States to manage its public domain national forests to maximize the reduction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. [H. Con. Res. 151, 9/10/1997]
2007: Gingrich calls for a cap-and-trade system with tax incentives for clean energy. I think if you have mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system, much like we did with sulfur, and if you have a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions, that theres a package there thats very, very good. And frankly, its something I would strongly support. [Frontline, 2/15/07]
February 15, 2007: I think if you have mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system, much like we did with sulfur, and if you have a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions, that theres a package there thats very, very good. And frankly, its something I would strongly support. [Frontline, 2/15/07]
In a debate on climate policy with Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), Gingrich says the evidence is sufficient that we should move towards the most effective possible steps to reduce carbon-loading of the atmosphere, and that we should do it urgently. [ThinkProgress, 4/10/07]
In a Washington Post chat, Gingrich rejects a cap-and-trade system, saying it would lead to corruption, political favoritism, and would have a huge impact on the economy. He says he supports tax credits for dramatically reducing carbon emissions. [Washington Post, 4/17/08]
2008: In an advertisement made for Al Gores Alliance for Climate Protection, Gingrich sat with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and said that we do agree our country must take action to address climate change. [We Campaign, 4/18/08]
I dont think that we have conclusive proof of global warming. And I dont think we have conclusive proof that humans are at the center of it. [Newt.org, 4/22/08]
April 4, 2009: And now, in 2009, instead of making energy cheaperwhich would help create jobs and save Americans moneyPresident Obama wants to impose a cap-and-trade regime. Such a plan would have the effect of an across-the-board energy tax on every American. That will make our artificial energy crisis even worseand raising taxes during a deep economic recession will only accelerate American job losses. [Newsweek, 4/4/09]

‘The problem is that the GOP as a whole is so much more left-wing than it used to be. As the GOP stands now it is incompatible with the Tea Party.’
That is just insane! The Republican Party is far more right wing than even thirty years ago. Evry one of the candidates expresses right wing talking points even if they are unable to deliver.
Are any of themas left as Nixon, Rockefeller, McCain, or Alan K. Simpson. Please!
Every one of the candidates are expressed As ProLife. Every one says they want lower taxes, less regulation, fewer departments, and more personal liberty and responsibility.
What we must do is decide who has the best chance to move legislation when elected. Gingrich can and HAS moved legislation including four balanced budgets, Welfare reform and several other cednter-right pieces of legislation. Perry has pushed legislation, as has Romney Z(bad legislation), and Santorum. The others are great but ineffective So far.

What is with these political know-it-alls who think that when an organization is created, it must succeed 100% in no time or it's a failure?
Anyhow, who gives a 'Rats a** what a lowly Globe Liberal writer says....
BTW, is the Tea Party really organized, or a loose coalition of groups/people as we were in the early days of America? I think the latter.

newt was 100% for Bush's senior drug benefits... until obamacare... the largest entitlement program ever devised... newt swore that it would save us money... explained it using flowery language and sexy adjectives. How did that work out? Just as well as newt's plan in the contract to defund and eliminate 95 Federal agencies... all of which still exist and have seen their budgets increase every year since newt was forced out of his speakership.
