Welfare Queens are easy targets, but the real problem with wealth transfer is with the large middle class, largely of nominal conservatives, who are waiting their turn to receive stolen Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare wealth from their younger neighbors.
There is NO difference. The SS recipient is receiving wealth stolen via political proxy from his neighbors, just like the welfare queen. That he paid in to the system does not make any less theft.
I hope you're wearing asbestos underwear.
I take it that you are a fairly young person and that when you reach retirement age you will refuse SS and Medicare etc. because of your principals.
Social Security has graduated from stealing from our neighbors to stealing from our children and the unborn.
What happened, your OWS camp-out get disbanded?
I doubt that the person who has worked all their life, raised a family and paid into the SS system for fifty years would see themselves in the same category as a welfare queen who has never held a job or married and who pops out illegitimate future welfare queens and gangstas for a living.
OK...
So ya cuttin me a check for the 24 years of SS tax I paid in to compensate me for my “stolen wealth” there kiddo...
So how did that pepper spray feel?
What was it like crapping on the sidewalk?
Which sign did you hold up? "Pay my tuition" or "All food should be free"?
If I am lucky enough to live long enough to collect Social Security, it is not like I am going to have a slew of additional children to increase the amount. There is a difference. The welfare queen is intentionally gaming the system (at great expense to both the generation of welfare dependents she is producing and to the rest of us). It is not the same with Social Security.
I had a conservative uncle who committed suicide at age 65 rather than collect SS. He was forced to retire and had no other means of support. And he payed into the system for 40+ years.
So I’m on the same level as a welfare queen
Explain....I’m sure you can... how after putting 15 % of my income into a SS fund for 45 years am I stealing money from YOUR pocket
Yes at some point if I live long enough I will be taking out more than I put in
My husband paid into SS from the age of 16 to 51. He passed on at 51 and never collected a dime out of the thousands he for forced to pay by the government.
If that money was put into something like a 401K or Ira early on, he would have had investment during the fat years of the stock market and ended up with well over a million...when he took a buy out from Ameritech the money in his 401K plus company added to it, he had over 1/4 million in benefits that including his buying stock from the company for decades... If he had been allowed to invest his FICA it would have been millions...I inherited almost 1/2 million without SS All went into an IRA via a revokable trust. Now the government is telling me how much I HAVE to take out yearly from my IRA. I do collect as widow's benefits from his SS but with a 30% discount due to taking it before the age of 65. Wise investing after he passed did well for me...Over 20 years I have been living off those investments and only recently have touched my original principal.
When my father started to collect SS he was embarassed to get money from the government...his generation (born in 1901) didn't like hand outs but he HAD to take it no choice. There was no refusing SS allowed.. He generously gave money to his grandkids for no reason at all...usually his SS payments. He had retired with a pension at 50 and went into his own business until 65. Lived modestly, like myself...his one splurge was his big T Bird. When he went into business as a contractor for hanging door and windows, he had to pay SS taxes. and that is what he collected on. Working for the city of Detroit, he never paid SS (or FICA taxes) because the city had their own pension plan.
Not everyone pays FICA taxes so they don't collect SS Tell the government you don't want to pay your FICA taxes and let us know what prison your sent to, we will send you sympathy cards....
You’re an idiot.
Fifty percent in this country are non-productive That's more than 150 million.
There are 35 million oldsters over the age of 65. Many of them are still working and contributing to social security
Tell me again that social security is the problem, not welfare. It's a liberal media/politician lie.
We are all so very sorry to hear about your terminal ignorance. There’s a cure out there somewhere. Hope you find it.
Their logic - I was a tax slave there for I demand the next generation be tax slaves to me. The cycle will never end.
If the majority on this site won't agree to take the hit in order to end the cycle then it will never occur. Socialism runs deep in USSA.
Yes - a tone of other programs should be killed first but the facts remain, even if those cuts were made, SS and Medicare are theft and unsustainable. I have paid in for 30 years and 15 of those being the max amount from my portion. With that said, I will go without if it means my children live not as slaves but as free men!
I hate reading anything dealing with the “sacred” entitlements on FR because it depresses me to realize they will never end until the current government either ends or we are bankrupt.
I will resist, violently if necessary, to those who wish to turn my children and grandchildren into their slaves or parasitic hosts!
Good luck everyone, game over.
You are right. Welfare queens, NEA grant artists, SS recipients are all the same. We were all robbed the second the government sank its fangs in our paycheck. Just because government makes an invisible box around a certain portion of the taxes you paid with an iffy promise that they will give it back to you some day does not mean the money is still yours and you are entitled to it. Regardless of what special purpose they say the money is being used for, it is GONE just like any other taxes they extorted. I do not care how much anybody paid in, NOBODY is entitled to permanent paid vacation at their neighbors expense.
Adam and Eve knew they would have to take care of themselves for the rest of their lives, why should the existence of government make us any different?
