In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
redolent;adj.
1. having a pleasant odor; fragrant. 2. odorous or smelling (usually followed by of ): redolent of garlic. 3. suggestive; reminiscent (usually followed by of ): verse redolent of Shakespeare.
Etymology: 1350–1400; Middle English < Latin redolent- (stem of redolēns ), present participle of redolēre to emit odor, equivalent to red- red- + ol ( ēre ) to smell (akin to odor) + -ent- -ent
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

A+++ bright sunshiny news all around. Caps fired their coach. not remotely sure it was the right thing to do. It gives OV way too much power, bc he was apparently not happy with Bruce. PLUS, they hire a former Cap THUG with record breaking penalty minutes, as the new coach. AND he’s never coached above Juniors.
Knew it was coming from yesterday, but news broke on Twitter about a half hour, 45 min ago.

We met our daughters future in laws and they were just wondeful people. We had them over for our saturday thanksgiving feast, then back for brunch Sunday morning. We had a great time. I'm so happy for my daughter to have in laws who love her so much.
