Of course. The media always relentlessly attacks any Republican who seems to exhibit some strength. Conversely, the media lays off any Republican who could be destroyed with minimal effort (after the nomination). Dole, McCain, Romney — these are dream candidates for the leftwing media.

I don’t think there will be much of an attack. All the media has to do is accurately report what Romney says and does and he’ll lose when conservatives refuse to vote for another Obama.

We need Conservatives at EVERY level, to get back to what the Framers intended.
They do it every election, and every election these “chosen” candidates manage to convince themselves that the MSM loves them — and are stupidly surprised when they get the nomination and suddenly the knives come out.
They have plenty on both Mitt and Newt. And, frankly speaking, what they have on Newt may be far worse than anyone has even contemplated yet. No, I don’t have anything solid to post on that line, but I have a very strong gut feeling.
If either of those two get the nomination, we’re screwed.
