It is sad; while many in the American pro-life movement picked up on the "Choose Life" t-shirts he wore in an early video, I believe the slogan actually originated from a British anti-drug campaign.
Indeed. I believe all moral codes have a basis in physical reality - restrictions on diets and sexual conduct in ancient times were not only good for society, but also meant to protect one from disease and death. Ancients may not have our science, but they saw cause and effect very clearly.
