Lung cancer is the number one cancer killer worldwide.
Amongst smokers and non-smokers !
Somehow I don’t get the feeling that you would have alot of sympathy for a non-smoker who died from it...

Lung cancer is the top killer of Chinese women who cook over smoky oily fires in their poorly ventilated homes.
My mother was a heavy smoker, so no surprise when she succumbed to lung cancer on Christnas Day, 1992. She tried desperately to quit, but to no avail. As far as non-smokers, I believe Dana Reeve, the widow of Christopher Reeve, aka Superman, died of lung cancer and had never smoked. But she was a lounge singer who was surrounded by smokers, so maybe that’s how she got the disease.
Then you miss my point, and I admit maybe it wasn't the best analogy. I have sympathy for anyone dying a horrible death. I pray for George Michael and his family just as I would for a lung cancer victim. What I have a problem with is the promoting and glamorizing of lifestyle choices that lead to these severe health issues. To continue with the smoking analogy, if you remember a few years ago people got upset about the glamorizing of smoking in the movies because of the negative health consequences. IMHO they should be equally as upset about the mainstreaming of homosexuality for the negative health issues associated with it.
