History Channel officially becomes a subsidiary of the Obama White House
The History Channel | 11/23/11

My wife and I just watched a History Channel show, "After Oil." It is one of the most unintentionally funny shows we have seen in a long time.

The premise is that, one day, all the undrilled oil in the world vansihes. Not used up, just vanished. Perhaps it has a temper tantrum; perhaps it is just out of town on a trip. Perhaps it has been stolen by aliens. However, this fantasy is to be taken seriously.

The world after running out of oil or after some catastrophe has been a staple of science fiction since H.G. Wells. The conclusion is almost always grim: our society ends and a new, inevitably more violent and more primitive depopulated one takes its place. There is no disagreement about this among the sane.

Unless you are carrying water for Obama and the Greens. The History Channel predicts that, aside from some minor inconveniences and regretable mass deaths, the world would, instead, slide almost seamlessly into the wildest LSD fantasy of the tree-kissers. You see, the world would simply change to a biofuel-based economy after the world plants endless new, shiny, non-polluting algae and corn and soybean farms. Millions of light-weight, all carbon-fiber electric cars and trucks and railroad trains will appear to reestablish trade and commerce. New York's Central Park will be transformed into an 800-acre farm to feed the city. Airships will glide through the air, powered by -- you guessed it -- biofuel and advanced batteries. After an unfortunate die-out of city populations (the billions dead never actually mentioned), the New U.S. "would resemble 19th century America, built along rail lines" supplied by electric trains traveling at hundreds of miles per hour. "After the end of oil, the air, water, and land will no longer be polluted!" and the Earth will breathe a great, sigh of happy relief. In all, a Green's masterbatory fantasy and a total sell-out to Obama and his base.

I suggest you watch it after at least one manhattan. Better make it two. For it's to laugh!

And have a Happy Thanksgiving with your factory farm-grown turkey, delivered by an oil-burning truck to a supermarket that consumes enormous amounts of electricity, driven home in your Klondike, your meal prepared in an all electric kitchen, in a houseful of friends wearing oil-based clothing, all warmed by oil and watching the game on the biggest TV you can find!

Forget the History Channel for anything substantial.

The government had damned well better get out of people’s hair in the country distilling their own alcohol for fuel should this ever (not bloody likely)happen.

At least one area radio station runs a PSA about using too much electricity, wastefully.

Little Billy wants to go to the State Fair, but narrator says poor Little Billy can’t go to the fair and ride the roller coaster because Billy and his parents wasted too much electricity.

The narrator promises Little Billy that he can go to the State Fair and ride the roller coaster — next year — but his parents have to go out and buy energy efficient appliances and gadgets for the home, first.

[The indoctrination is all around.]

Boy, you can say that again. The History Channel use to be great television. Then it went to hell in a handcart. It use to be you could tune in and get The rise and fall of the Roman Empire or other great shows. Now you tune in and get Ice Road Truckers. What does that have to do with history? The History Channel is a joke now. However my cable provider has History Channel 2 on another channel and they do broadcast a lot of the older History Channel Material. I watch HC2 all the time now.

Right, we only need to empty the cities, slaughter the intellectuals and put everyone to work on farms with backbreaking labor.

Khmer Rouge comes to America. I meant...er... Democratic Kampuchea of course.

There is some good stuff on the History channel every once in a while. I just avoid the ancient aliens crap and the green fantasies.

One of the best you’ll ever see.

The AGW crowd is do delusional that they willfully neglect the source of atmospheric heat is the Sun and also are ignorant that there is a byproduct from the molten mass that makes up the core of this planet. Combustion, no matter where it occurs is still governed by the laws of physics and combustion needs to exhaust.

The History Channel is not about History any more.

Certainly there is nothing historical about Swamp People or Pawn shops. Some old thing are found in the Pickers, but that is more like antique shopping than History.

The shows that are not pure entertainment are attacking the Bible by saying we are descended from Aliens, or warning us about the Oceans devouring New York. Others try to equate Biblical writings to earthquakes or natural phenomenom.Anything but that the “Almighty” might have had anything to do with it.

Admittedly some of their shows are interesting, but History is no longer the basic premise for the History Channel.

H2 is what History used to be. Tales Of The Gun, Naked Archaeologist, Vanishings, Wild West Tech, etc. are my favorites.

One of the reasons we cancelled TV was that every program on Discovery inserted the AGW propaganda at exactly 4 minutes before the end of the show, History was no longer about history, FNC was flashing “News Alert” 3x/hr. We are content with Netflix, GBTV and Internet and we read.

In fact, right now we are out of town, have full cable, DH is reading, I am here and we haven’t even turned the TV on, so far.

The History channel has always been run by libs, but for the most part I think it is still ok. I'm more pissy about the their treatment and similar channel's treatment of Medieval/Renaissance weapons and war fair. The most egregious was one of R Lee Ermy’s comparison of a European longsword and a katana. Katana was better at everything including stabbing. Total BS. They had a craptastic E. Longsword and no explanation of how it was PROPERLY used

In a way they are right, biomass burners is the new green fuel, but was invented in 1900, it was called water gas then. They took a glowing bed of charcoal and sprayed it with super heated steam. The produce was C+H2O=CO+H2. This fuel can be run in an internal combustion engine directly. H2+O=H20 and CO+O=CO2

The new solar collectors that power these systems are so very high tech and efficient, they work on rainy days and make batteries automatically. They are also very easy to produce, they are nano designs that you place a small particle on the ground and they erect the whole structure from elements it gathers using energy from the sun to weld it all together. Ater creating battery banks called cords, they create thousands of replacement nano particles called seeds. It is currently called a Tree!

It is amazing technology! A self perpetuating solar array that can generate electricity with the right generator system.

Just imagine what somebody with an idea like this could do with 500 Million bucks from Obama. Green energy that is shovel ready, not kickback ready: Here
