Mike Reagan said, "He (my father) would have supported Newt Gingrich's position on immigration. My father never would have broken up a family...."

It is my personal belief that no illegal should be able to create a US citizen just by birthing a baby on US soil
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is my personal belief that no legal non citizen resident should either!
Is this one of Mikey Reagan's "FAMILIES"....?
ILLEGAL CROSSES RIO GRANDE IN LABOR TO GIVE BIRTH TO ANCHOR BABY (And Stiffs Hospital bill)
Bwahahahahahaha ... you like you pitard, queen?
Would it shock you if I agreed with you? But that is not the issue under discussion here.
Illegal aliens come to America and treat our country like a rented car.
America needs some loving care from the owners who love her.
That is Reagan's fault. How do you accept a bill that can be so easily thwarted by a single Senator? But that wasn't all - the automatic provisions for employer sanctions were STRIPPED from the Senate version - and he signed it anyway!
Irrational is not something to be proud of, poster. You have an ageda and refuse to step away from the work you’re here to accomplish. Have Nice Day
Your post was uncalled for.
It also was accomplishing what you accused another of doing.
No sale. The borders were barley on the radar way back then.
That was a totally completely different era with a total different set of facts.
That occurred that was *before* we were totally inundated upwards of 30 million illegals in the past 20 years.
It's become so bad in the past decade or two, there is now a war on the Texas border, as these millions have completely choked off, subverted and undermined our entire system.
Nice try.
I agree with your posts. Some must not have noticed, but Newt did not offer citizenship, but merely legal status. They would not be allowed to vote. It is a lot easier getting rid of the riff-raff, and allowing productive people to remain. Good people are an asset to America, and to uproot entire families, some of who know no other country, is immoral. Most of the off spring don’t even know Spanish, let alone the culture. We should never punish the children for the mistakes of the parents.
Barely too
Nice try, but you have it backwards. The "emotional" ones were Gingrich and Reagan. Had Reagan thought it through logically, he would have anticipated that MILLIONS more than predicted would bum rush the border to get amnesty. He would have realized how many of them would have babies, push schools and hospitals to the breaking point, create Spanish-only towns throughout CA and TX, leave hundreds of thousands on welfare, WIC, food stamps, Medicare, etc.
None of that mattered. We were "a nation of immigrants". Illegals "shared our values". Etc. And anyone who disagreed was simply racist. So we got amnesty, and a demographic disaster ensued. Gingrich was all for it. And made it even worse as Speaker in the 1990s. And now he wants even MORE amnesty, as did McCain. No thanks. I will never support another such candidate.
Okay, show me where it is uncalled for. And yes, I used hyperbole as a way to illustrate the contradiction to conservatism that the poster I responded to was making. Now, you want to correct me. Go ahead. Make the anti-Gingrich screeders day, show me why the post I made was uncalled for.
I don't care who you are, that's funny!
Newt's whole plan was framed as a purely emotional appeal: if we don't do this, we're not the "party of family values" and we're "inhumane."
When he explains how his plan is first and foremost good and right for the nation, then you can start talking about logical v. emotional people.
How about THIS child? Explain to me how the baby of a Mexican national who crossed the Rio Grande and gave birth two hours later is under the "jurisdiction" of the U.S. (according to the 14th Amendment), and thus gives birth to an "American citizen"? If the President of Mexico's wife gave birth in a NC hospital, the baby would be Mexican. Period. So are anchor babies. How is it "punishing" the babies to deport them WITH THE PARENTS? They broke the law. Do you not send a bank robber to jail, since it would "punish" his children when he goes off to jail? Ridiculous. All you NewtBots are doing is undermining the rule of law, which has enormous repercussions.
What exactly was "irrational" about the post to which you responded? And my "agenda" is the rule of law. What's yours?
I actually agree with Newt’s comments and here’s why. It is zero tolerance enforcement of rules that gets the boy scout suspended from school for forgetting to take his pocket knife out of his pocket. What Newt said was if he has a family is paying taxes and is part of a local church we’ll look at keeping him here. That could mean at least giving him the opportunity to become a citizen. If he refuses then I’m all for sending him back to his home country. I think a common sense approach to this would be beneficial. Immediately get rid of the law breakers and those who are here for a free ride and give the ones who’s only crime is not having filed paperwork a chance to do so.
I’m referring to established families, and agree with you about anchor babies. Suppose you had an Hispanic neighbor, who you became friends with, your children played with their children, they went to your church, and were like everyone else in the neighborhood, except the grandfather and grandmother came here illegally. None could speak Spanish and were very conservative. Would you throw them a going away party, and tell them, too bad, so sad, but get the hell out of my country? Could you do that to your friends?
I am not pro amnesty, and believe we have to keep them from coming in, as well as get rid of the newcomers by refusing them welfare, and anyone who has committed a crime, even minor, need to go. The crop of Hispanics we have been getting the past decade are mostly parasites, and it’s time to put them back where they belong.
Mike is so right on this. It’s not humane to break up the family. Send them and their boatload of anchors back to the mother land.
