I sat on the porch of my Navy “A” school instructor in San Ysidro and spotlighted illegals with Q-Beams attached to car batteries. We would drink beer and dial the BP and report them all night. You could do it 7 days a week in 1981 and stay busy at it. You know not of what you speak. I was there.
My buddy and I were pulling off the highway at 0’dark-thirty to be at a surf spot for sunrise when we had to lock it up to keep from hitting about 30 illegals who had just been let out of a truck. This stuff happened all the time 30 years ago. It was particularly amazing to me. I grew up on the beach in FL and had ever seen anything like that. If you think it was not a problem then you are sadly misinformed.

As much as I love ya, big guy - I hope you will understand these previous posters feelings.

We, here in AZ, are dealing with some VERY serious problems with the illegals. Drunk driving, and killing entire families, with one ‘little bump’ while under the influence of some of that nice tasting beer. Molesting children - some as young as two years old. Raping women and stealing ID’s.....giving the finger to Americans and stomping on and burning the American Flag, just to name a few.

Our tax dollars are going to sustain these people - and we have the laws on the books - they are here illegally - why should we support them?

I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with people (of any race or religion) coming to our country legally, and obeying our laws - but we are dealing with a totally different problem now - and it is not (NOT) legal - and it is not fair to our citizens....

You’re the idiot, ya dam idiot. They had lots of houses and a couple schools there...in fact back in the 50s they did. The difference is in the 50s it was all anglos. by the seventies it was all mex.

That is the same story for EVERY farming community in the whole of southern california. You must’ve been one of those big city snobs that didn’t know your city was being surrounded by illegals.

hello, anyone home?

No sale. The borders were barely on the radar way back then.

That was a totally completely different era with a total different set of facts.

Reagan's amnesy occurred that was *before* we were totally inundated upwards of 30 million illegals in the past 20 years.

It’s become so bad in the past decade or two, there is now a war on the Texas border, as these millions have completely choked off, subverted and undermined our entire system.

1981 I sat on the porch of my Navy “A” school instructor in San Ysidro and spotlighted illegals with Q-Beams attached to car batteries. We would drink beer and dial the BP and report them all night.

San Ysidro? Lets see, that's pretty much right on the Mexican border..

Maybe you don't get what I'm saying. I'm talking about entire *major* cities being over run with illegal aliens.

That did not occur in 1981. This is not even debatable.

The waves of illegals really started in the mid to late 80s...

The big massive push across the borders started in the early 90s when an endless conga-line of tens of millions came across...It's was like a Boston marathon of millions...

It was relentless all the way up to what we have today.

Nothing compares to the epic invasion we've witnessed for the past 20 years.

Again, this is not even debatable.

Oh stop...You have no idea what your talking about. Oxnard in the 70s was nothing but farm land for the most part where illegals did their thing in the fields.

The massive waves of illegals came in the mid eighties, and totally escalated thorough out the 90s, to the point where entire major cities were being over run.

Gezzz.

Your Dad granted amnesty and did zip in regards securing our border. Thanks for reminding us that he BLEW IT on immigration.

Yeah and if after blowing he would support it again after getting stabbed in the back the first time then maybe President Reagan was the great president I remember him as.

You show me where I’ve generalized the entire Cuban community. You were the one talking about ridding the country of latinos. Cubans are legal. I was pointing out that you must have forgotten about them and the Puerto Ricans in your race baiting rant.

In part I agree with some of what you stated. Here are my corrections.

“America wants productive, family oriented [legal] immigration and has a way to legitimize even the illegals on a case by case basis. [I totally agree. They can be legitimized at the back of the line waiting in their home country.] I can prove that with my own cousin’s wife who started out as an illegal [whose job did she steal while she was here illegally]...”

“...and is now a naturalized citizen and very productive American. I’m extremely proud of her.”

Well at least now I understand why you’ve abandoned the conservative position for the liberal one. It’s personal with you. I can’t say that any of the millions of out of work American citizens or people waiting patiently in their home country to immigrate legally would agree with you and contrary to your family’s belief, there are many legal immigrants who do not like illegals of any nationality invading our country. No matter how “productive” the invaders happen to be.

Oh and Elian Gonzalez’ situation has nothing to do with this. If his mother had lived, he’d be here today. He was not here illegally, Clinton sent him back because Castro told him to do it, not because he wasn’t legal. Little Havana had no love for Fidel, but Clinton did.

I am very much acquainted with the anchor baby law but can’t see how your posting #41 deals with it in the context of your words that no LEGAL non-citizen should be able (as you agreed to also) to create a citizen just by birthing a baby on US soil. There was no ‘ONLY’ qualifier. You don’t know me well enough to call me a dufus and my spell check doesn’t even recognize the term. I can only accept that your words could have meant my brother and I were not citizens. This would be a sad situation for many WWII vets who fought and died for their USA. I believe WWII vets would agree with me.

Sheesh, nice try though. Worthy of a little axelgreasy/alinsky star for your effort to twist what I wrote to fit your deceit: "You were the one talking about ridding the country of latinos." Try reading the post again, if you actually want to be honest.

I'm curious, asshat, how do you prove she stole any job from someone else? Oh I get it, you're doing the job the DNC won't do right now, trashing the barry bassturd opposition. Carry on

It must be interesting in that echo chamber. Alone with your own thoughts. Devoid of factual input. I hope it’s warm and comfortable.
I know how bad it has become in the last 30 years, because I saw it at the beginning, 30 years ago. RR blew it. It does not negate the good things he did. However, he committed a major error supporting that amnesty. Fact. Indisputable fact. “Conservatives” today need to admit that error and learn from it. Denying the facts is not a good starting point to deal with the current situation.

I never once disputed Reagan not blowing it in regards to his amnesty

My point is, the *real* push by tens of million across our borders did not occur until after Reagan was out of office, and for the following 25 years, it only escalated and became an utter disaster. It became so bad during the Bush years, and since, it's turned into a national security nightmare.

In fact, it became so bad, even Bush's Homeland Security Chief, Cherfoff was found to have people wandering around the inside of his private residence, who entered the country illegally.

You can argue about this all you care to.

BTW, sometimes people have to be told the same thing several times, before it finally sinks in.

Deporting illegal aliens when they come in contact with LE is too harsh? We might as well just move into the parks with the OWS nuts and let the illegals have our homes then. Or shoot ourselves in our friggin' heads and be done with it.

We deserve it don't we? /s

I have no sympathy at all for those who employ illegals. Most of them know exactly who is illegal and who isn’t. Who has more cause to be loyal to the U.S. American employers or foreign illegals? So which is giving the bigger insult?

Nobody gives a crap what Reagan thinks.

We are currently fighting two very costly wars because he thought it would be a smart idea to give some Stinger missiles to some towel-heads.

Everybody makes mistakes.

Republicans have to stop acting like this guy was God.

I can tell you straight up, most employers know who exactly who is legal and who is not. It's all a sham. I've had employers tell me to my face, "So he has multiple names and social security numbers, it's not that big of deal".

I've had employers tell me, show me multiple personal files on one GD employee, because he had multiple names, ID's etc.

When ya got an entire staff in the warehouse etc,, with the only one speaking English/bilingual/Spanish who is the foreman or GM, so he can communicate with the other 75 employees on the floor....You know damn well what is happening. Ya ask the employer to produce personnel files for these individuals, and they produce a 1 page file of someone that's been there 3 years and it's an incomplete applications, with NO work history, with SS numbers being used my multiple individuals...I can go on.

That's if they are able to produce an employee personnel file at all. No joke.

Check this..

I know of one case, where an employee got drunk routinely while operating a machine...One day he got so drunk on his lunch time, he came back and pissed all over the rubber mat at the machine, right in front of the other illegals where were standing there laughing...

Did he get fired? Nope...They suspended him for 2 days...

But instead of returning to work, he sued the employer for some concocted injury...He comes back during his recovery time to pick up a check, leaves, walks back in and tells them his car was stolen from the employee parking lot...Then sues them for not providing adequate security for the employee parking lot...

No enough? It's found he collected theft insurance on the vehicle in 4 different states, with 4 different insurance companies, collecting like $40,000 on a 13 year old vehicle...His vehicle is then found in his cousins garage, where they were stripping it and selling sell parts...

Turns out this company knew he was an illegal, along with 70 percent of the other employees.

It's totally out of control.

Newt's whole plan was framed as a purely emotional appeal: if we don't do this, we're not the "party of family values" and we're "inhumane."

Not so. Rick Perry said that if we didn't agree with him, we didn't have a heart. Newt just said that was the "humane" thing to do; that was his opinion. But, you know what fightinJAG, it doesn't matter a friggin' rat's ass. We Pubbies and Conservatives are going to see to it that we destroy every last candidate we have before the Convention. and whoever ends up being the nominee, he/she will be so bloodied, wounded and politically destroyed that Obozo will win by 10 percentage points. So, to hell with the whole thing.

Nope sorry. You still wrote about a Hispanic free nation. Even though you like to race bait, you forgot about the fact that Cubans and Puerto Ricans would still be here even if every single illegal who ever lived in this country, including your cousin, was sent back to their land of origin.

I don’t have to go around agreeing with the DNC like you Rockefeller wingers. You would probably know all about the alinsky star since open borders Soros is your king. But you are right about one thing. I should not have assumed your cousin’s illegal wife supported herself with work in the US. She could just as well have stolen from taxpayers instead. My mistake.
