All of the hands from the Cyclone Ranch are at the bar. Matt suspects foul play when Old man Bartlett's Foreman, Ed, tells him that the Cyclone Ranch has been sold to a stranger from Texas named Jed Wade. Although Ed did not actually see the Bartletts leave, he was told that they had left the country. Wade paid off all of Bartletts hands and then laid them off because he brought his own hands. Everybody knows that Bartlett put half of his life into that ranch, so it seems unlikely that he would sell. He even said that he planned to live the rest of his life there. Matt decides to do some digging around, and he unearths more than he bargained for. Matt finds out that there has been no bill of sale recorded on the Cyclone Ranch. Chester has been checking around at the stage depot, etc., and no one has seen the Bartletts leave. Matt and Chester go out to the Cyclone. They first meet Jed's belligerent partner, Dallas, and then Jed's friendly mother, Mrs. Wade. She never met the previous owners. She wants to make sure though that Jed hasn't gotten in trouble again. Jed shows up and chases his mother away. Matt wants to see the bill of sale signed by Old Man Bartlett. Jed produces the document. Dillon wants to take it into town and check the signature. Back in town, Matt and Chester run into Doc, who has a bill of sale from Old Man Bartlett for a horse that he bought last fall. The signature is the same. Matt can't escape the thought that Old Man Bartlett was forced to sign the bill of sale. Matt and Chester go back out to the Cyclone. The coyotes are howling. They appear to be digging by the river bank. At that spot Matt and Chester continue the digging and find the dead bodies of the Bartletts. Shots then ring out. Matt and Chester return fire and score a fatal hit on Dallas. Matt and Chester go on to the house looking for Jed. They meet Mrs. Wade who directs them to the barn. Matt tells Jed that he is under arrest. Jed knocks over the lantern and grabs his gun. The hay quickly catches fire, and the barn collapses on Jed, killing him. (Kansas Governor Edward F. Arn addresses the radio audience.) (Sus.) (CBS) (29:42)

Will you please add me to your pinglist? WAMU’s Hot Jazz on Saturday nights and classic radio on Sundays are among the best reasons for living or working in the DC area. And, by the way, I have absolutely no idea who their engineers are (I think the tower is in NW DC at Wisconsin and Jenifer or thereabouts) but never have I heard a clearer, stronger signal - from way offshore (off Annapolis) to well west of the Shenendoah Valley. Those guys have tuned that stick like a Stradivarius. I always wanted to congratulate them, or him (or her!)!

Happy Sunday-Before-Thanksgiving evening, folks.......

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."
