"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

I’m not old enough to have my first words be turn on the radio (but close). But I do love OTR. I worked at a small station that aired a program called the Best of Radio’s Christmas Past. It was produced in the late 70’s. Featured Amos and Andy’s Christmas Show, A Christmas Carol with Basil Rathbone, Fibber McGee and Molly, Red Skelton, A Truth or Consequences show about a Navy guy who was hurt and they brought his family to him at the Naval hospital in Long Beach and many more. Anyway, my son wanted a copy and now our grandkids listen to them too. OTR is great.

Greetings fellow FReeper OTR fans - for those of you that like the old time sci-fi serials, I recently found a multi-episode trilogy that originally aired on the BBC back in the late 50’s called “Journey Into Space”. It’s a well done format and story line. If you like X-Minus one, I’m sure you’ll enjoy these.

Act I: Operation Luna
Act II: The Red Planet
Act III: The World in Peril

Happy Thanksgiving!
