Isn't it amazing, boarding on sick, that Americans don't know these basic facts of our history? My liberal aunt teaches elementary school American history. She thinks separation of church and state is in the Constitution- her head will probably explode when I whip this out.The miseducation system in America is criminally negligent. It is a crime that many nowadays have no clue about America's beginning and foundation.
The Big Lie is the nonexistent, supposed mandated "separation" between God and government. There is no such thing in our founding, as President Washington makes quite clear.

Of course.
WAMUs Hot Jazz on Saturday nights and classic radio on Sundays are among the best reasons for living or working in the DC area.
Agreed!

My father will be doing the bird in the oven. No smoking will be taken place during the holiday. However, I may go to master pitmaster Tuffy Stone's place in Hampton VA for a fix.

I’m not old enough to have my first words be turn on the radio (but close). But I do love OTR. I worked at a small station that aired a program called the Best of Radio’s Christmas Past. It was produced in the late 70’s. Featured Amos and Andy’s Christmas Show, A Christmas Carol with Basil Rathbone, Fibber McGee and Molly, Red Skelton, A Truth or Consequences show about a Navy guy who was hurt and they brought his family to him at the Naval hospital in Long Beach and many more. Anyway, my son wanted a copy and now our grandkids listen to them too. OTR is great.

OTR is pure Americana. Would you like to be on the ping list?

My liberal aunt teaches elementary school American history. She thinks separation of church and state is in the Constitution- her head will probably explode when I whip this out. I have liberals in my family too. We used to get into it years ago, but then my mother asked us not to discuss politics anymore after my liberal brother-in-law called one of the Thanksgiving guests a name...
To: Vision
I'll want to visit there some time when I visit my daughter in D.C. Also want to tour the nearby Civil War battlefields.
Plans are a little different this year for Thanksgiving, We're going to a beach hotel that is having entertainment along with the traditional dinner. I don't have many details as this will be kind of a present.
