Lana Wood on CNN: `I don't think Natalie fell'

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Natalie Wood's sister says she doesn't believe the actress fell from a boat into the sea off Southern California's Santa Catalina Island where she drowned nearly 30 years ago.

Lana Wood tells CNN's Piers Morgan in an interview Friday that she has spoken several times with the boat's captain Dennis Davern and he has told her that Natalie Wood's husband Robert Wagner was involved in her plunge into the sea on Nov. 29, 1981.

Seems like the alcoholic boat-captain, whom after 30 years of supposed silence and more than 30 years of alcoholism, who can’t even shave or dress like he hasnt been sleeping in his shabby dirty clothes for network TV , would have something more to do with serious criminal activity and hitting on easy flirtatious stray women in the middle of the night after they’ve been arguing with their husband over just such behaviour. But then again what do I know, the boat captain may be a classy individual.....cough, cough.

I listened to that joker Davern in one of the many interviews he’s giving and he has the look and sound of a four-flusher.

Hesitates, mumbles, is evasive, can barely manage to give a straight answer, he makes Mitt Romney look like the straight shootin’, straight talkin’ second coming of John Wayne. Based on his wardrobe alone (shows up in an old army-style fatigue jacket, scraggly lookin’ beard, dirty cap or hat), he’s got the shorts and needs cash bad.

The resulting book, Natalie, A Memoir By Her Sister, reached # 3 on the New York Times Best-Seller List. In 2004, Lana co-produced an ABC-TV movie special The Mystery of Natalie Wood. Lana has been busy in recent years writing, producing and appearing at special events.
