Word For The Day, Tuesday, November 15, 2011
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
kef [keyf]
-n
1.A state of drowsy contentment
2. Also, keef. a substance, especially a smoking preparation of hemp leaves, used to produce this state.
Kef comes from the Arabic word kaif meaning well-being or pleasure.
a shade too yellow, i suppose....
i know who wins that game : )
It has been raining off and on since 5 this morning-we have gotten nearly 2 inches so far...
The squatters in Zucotti park
Were hoping for a winter of kef
With Bloomingidiot’s indifference,
They’d have no cause for grief
With yurts and tents and ample food
Free heaters, blankets and stuff
They’d be warm, stoned and unwashed-
So winter wouldn’t be so tough
But the shopkeepers of Manhattan
Had finally had just enough
So Bloomie threw out the squatters-
Let’s see how long he hangs tough
Ummm.... I look more like an animated tent, actually. Your photo does give one ideas, though!
The spouse said her dress looks like a sofa his parents had in the 60s.
Well I guess that settles it!! ROR!
I’ll say it again— diff strokes for diff folks.
This is Satan’s world for now, but we all know who wins the ultimate battle.
“looks like a sofa”
LMAO! I would have said the cushions of patio furniture-I would like the dress for a garden party type soiree, but not the setting/occasion she is wearing it in.
I digress, but-Michelle Antoinette’s dress would make a pretty hostess gown/caftan-I’d wear it for that. I have a pair of hostess pants in that kind of print, and I’ve worn them for patio parties, etc a bunch of times.
Your pup is darling, by the way-who could resist that face?
