That’s not even close to the ones in Biology. Bet they came from South America, or Asia. The abdomen on those was about an inch thick.

Grasshopper in pic is known as a lubber...very common in Florida....will eat any vegetation...cannot fly. Male is about half the size of a female..offspring are black. It has no terrestrial enemies but is eaten by certain fish. If you see one on your property, best kill it.
