You do realize that the GI BIll is nicknamed the Yellow Ribbon Program.
The US Army also has what is known as Yellow Ribbon Rooms at their bases which are support posts for family members who have loved ones stationed over seas.
But don’t let your view interfere with the reality of how our own soldiers see it. Just because Yellow only means one thing to you.
The US Army has many programs and events using the Yellow Ribbon, and none mean what you see.

Must be pretty sad, you drive around and see yellow ribbons and instead of feeling pride for those who are serving, you only think of cowardice.
My grandfather’s yellow bandanna is tied around the flag given to my grandmother by honor guards at his funeral.

(2) Of course the GI Bill is nicknamed the Yellow Ribbon program, being as it is the entry point for many families into statist socialism. Socialism preys on victims, and with the “help me government” attitude of the Bonus Marchers and the rise of socialism in the US the elite and the eternal victim class in any society, the GI Bill was almost predetermined outcome.
For many in the military since, military service is a ticket to the lifetime of governmental gravy. Difficult for a while, but the long term defined benefits are considered worth it.
(3) For many, if not most, flying the yellow ribbon in the years since the Iranian Hostage Crisis it has meant only one thing “Bring ‘Em Home Now!”.

Did you know that a yeoman is by most common definition a freeman who must do the hard work on his own to run his own farm.
The Yeomen as a class are the ones who make up the militia, the armed citizenry. Not the paid professional military. When a YEOMAN goes to war, his family doesn't fly a yellow ribbon, they fly the stars and stripes.
You have a problem with a paid professional military?
Do Yeomen usually go to war as conscripts or volunteers in your mind?
Once they volunteer and are paid, are then not part of a paid professional military?
Evidence shows you know next to nothing about the military traditions of American families and are thus in a rather piss poor position to say what their acts do or do not symbolize.
Many had problems with a standing Army. Less so with a paid professional Navy.
I didn’t ask what our founders view was - I asked what you had against a paid professional military.
Do you think America can and should do without one?
Do you think in modern warfare an amateur force would be sufficient to protect and defend these United States?
THAT is what our Nation's Founders had to fight both as part of and against. Some of greatest military officers of the Revolution had been part of the British military in the wars prior to the Revolution. So great was their fully understandable fear of a standing military, that the Articles of Confederation did not have the ability to raise one of any consequence.
Out of that post Revolutionary experience, under the Articles of Confederation, the founding generation learned that we needed a standing professional army and navy, but even then it was always kept small, lean and even at times impoverished. THAT is our heritage, and it is so for good reason.
Your ignorance is obviously only matched by your intransigence in insisting upon your meaning despite numerous well sourced corrections.

Your subsequent rants have little to do with you being absolutely 100% wrong about what a yellow ribbon means.
But your anti-military stance helps to explain your abject ignorance on the subject quite well.
You have used the phrase "abject ignorance" again and again. The use of that phrase seems to be the pinnacle, the apex, the acme, that is the ultimate argument you have.
You are hung up on it. I'll tell you now (right now, listen!) what your subconscious means by it.
You mean you object to what I have said. You find it objectional simply and only because it does not fit the facts as your would like them to be, magically.
You object to facts differing from what you would like the world and history to have been. And you subconsciously recognize that making such a personal choice keeps you ignorant. Object ignorance.
Your subconscious understands exactly what you are doing and has commented upon it.

You had the opportunity to learn what people in the military think of yellow ribbons, and what their family members mean when they put out yellow ribbons, what Military Bases mean when they put out yellow ribbons - but you chose to wallow in your own ignorance rather than learn.
What can be said of such abject and willful ignorance?
That I have a total lack of respect for it, as well as your shitty anti U.S. military attitude.
