Mario Batali faces a boycott from his restaurants' well-heeled clientele after comments he made about the banking industry Tuesday during a panel discussion.
"The ways the bankers have kind of toppled the way money is distributed and taken most of it into their hands is as good as Stalin or Hitler and the evil guys," Batali, 51, said while sitting on a panel concerning Time Magazine's Person of the Year.
Forbes.com reposted the remarks, and angry patrons began posting negative reviews of the celebrity chef's restaurants, including Babbo and Del Posto, on the Bloomberg restaurant site, a go-to source for Wall Street diners.
"If you like betrayal, you should go," The Los Angeles Times reported one reviewer posted.

Whadda putz.
Mustn’t piss off those expense accout boys Mario.
Especially the ones who’s $500 lunches are guaranteed by the Federal Reserve.
Talk about “biting the hand that feeds you..” Oy vey..
We had a nice run in at Batali’s restaurant at the RNC in 2004. We went to his restaurant the first night, service was great, food was over-rated. The next night some friends wanted to go so we all went, we still had our RNC credentials around our neck. The host refused to seat us even though we had reservations. Found out later Batali or one of his Sr. Staff instructed them not to serve anyone from the Convention. The waiters were also wearing buttons with leftist sayings on them.
What a liberal douche.
Multi-millionaire. Owner of 16 restaurants, author of 11 books, and a dozen paid television credits. He probably makes more percentage margin on his restaurant customers than hedge fund managers make on their commissions.
Feeling a little heat in the kitchen, Mario?

It was never my intention to equate our banking industry with Hitler and Stalin, two of the most evil, brutal dictators in modern history

To remove any ambiguity about my appearance at yesterdays Time Person of the Year panel, I want to apologize for my remarks.

@CommMarine: Can you name one banker who either started a world war or was a mass murderer of millions of innocent people? There are none!

@CommMarine: Your analogy was quite moronic. Hitler and Stalin were mass muderers. You were not there and have no context sshhhh

I am sure he will cater dinners for OWS at $145 a plate. I am sure there are a lot of buyers in the camps. (maybe Soros or Obama 2012 will pick up the check?)
He’s just another Michael Moore type douche bag who trashes capitalism but profits off of it everyday. Hey Mario, why don’t you spread some of your wealth around fatty
Wow....I was just in NY and made a point to have dinner at Manzo. Would have skipped it if I had known. Besides which everyone thought the food was overrated. It isn’t that it was bad - just not that good for the $.
First night we went to Sparks Steakhouse - the spot where John Gotti had his rival axed in the doorway while Gotti watched from across the street. Now that was an interesting place....lots of flavor - and not just in the food.
FWIW, I don’t trust any of those with major power. Power corrupts. Absolute power....
Let the buyer beware.
He is disgustingly, morbidly obese - from shoveling food in his mouth, grease dripping on his sweaty redhaired chest, roaring as his distended belly gets satiated. And then resting. Then dislocating his jaw and gorging some more.
I refuse to eat at his restaurants- what ails him might be contagious. Gross.
Corporate Deathburger
Ronald McDonald
I found a lot of celebrity chef’s restaurants are way over-rated. The few exceptions are any of Thomas Keller’s places or any of the Brennan’s restaurants. In NYC, the best Italian (and dirt cheap) is La Cucina Stagionale. It reminds you of the restaurant in The Goodfellas.

He has no balls. Man up, ball-less. You said what you mean, now mean what you say.
I hope if someone shows up to make him clarify his comments, there is a camera somewhere. I would LOVE to see him get his 4 asses whipped.
Shut up and cook!
