Casio Pathfinder for me! In addition to compass, altimeter, barometer, thermometer, 5 alarms, world time zones, stopwatch, countdown time - mine is also synchronized to the Colorado atomic clock each night, so it is also accurate to within a second and is powered by solar. I just love this watch.

I’ve got an old Timex Ironman on it’s 4th battery, it hasn’t missed a lick. It is at least 12 years old.

The domestic staff have watches, as do the chauffers, and the Gulfstream crew.
No tawdry chronometric baubles for me, thanks.

Definitely analog, for a impromptu compass (provided you can see the sun)
Citizen for me, I like the Eco-drive (never needs winding or batteries)
The hands glow nicely next to the tritium sights (Les Baer) on the nightstand.
Stands up to splitting wood with a maul, repeated dunkings in saltwater, and the dial is resistant to abrasion.

about $400 is my absolute limit for watches. I am hard on most of them. I like Skagen, Timex I even have a cheap ($70) Armitron Skeleton. My best find is a Bulova that normally sells for $500 at Kohls, but with my %20 discount coupon, Kohls cash, Instore discount and everything I wound up paying about $270 for it.

Here's one of my favorite watches. It's BIG, 55mm.

It's an Invicta Russian Diver's watch.
