The hacker group Anonymous has issued a statement today denying they were ever harassed by Republican Presidential Candidate Herman Cain. In a statement released on an online news forum a spokeperson for the group threatened attacks on Politico, MSNBC, Huffington Post and a myriad of other political punditry sites for continuing to spread "this vicious, totally unfounded lie."
On Sunday Politico ran a thinly sourced story accusing Herman Cain of a pattern of sexual harrassment against women all referred to as "Anonymous." The story has ignited a firestorm of controversy on television and print news, as well as online. Herman Cain's campaign has denied the allegations, going so far as to say that "Herman Cain has never worked with Anonymous and though he is aware of them has never found them attractive." Herman Cain has a master's degree in Computer Science, however this connection between Cain and Anonymous was not mentioned in Politico's story.
The statement by Anonymous went on to say that the accusations are causing members of the group great personnal distress. "It's embarassing" said one member, speaking off the record. "People keep teasing me, saying stuff like 'Did the big bad pizza man make a pass at you?' or 'Are you going to sue me if I smile at you?' It's humiliating. I've never even met Herman Cain. We're hackers. We've got a reputation to maintain and it's hard to scare people when they're all laughing at you." The group denies that any of its members have ever worked for the National Restaurant Association, though some apparently do have part time employment in the food services industry.
The group has not only threatened to use denial of service attacks to shutdown Politico's website unless they issue an immediate retraction, they have also stated they will shut down the websites of all of Cain's competitors "just to make sure we punish whichever scumbag started this attack on our character." Both Politico and the Mitt Romney campaign were contacted for comment but neither would speak on the record. Both promised that statements would be released "soon" showing how unprepared they are to handle a crisis.
Haa now that was good!
Looks like Polutico is finally getting some scrutiny of their false and reckless reporting they deserve. This isn’t the first time Martin and Co traded in this phony stuff. I hope they get shut down on principle.
It’s Perry’s fault, don’t cha know. Perry did it.
It’s good to have a laugh after a tiring week.
Nothing will rune the good peace of man faster than a lousy pizza ass.
(How’s that shoe collection coming?)
Ping.
Well done.
Rush explained today the Politico is run by three former Washington Post slime balls. Washington Post wanted them to start a seperate entity in order that the Wash Post editors can claim that they no nothing about any stories emanating from Politico.
So Anonymous has a side job writing for the Onion?
What I want to know is, will Anonymous confirm or deny whether Laz hit it?
That should be PolitiKKKo..
Hilarious!
(I thought everyone who lives in his mom’s basement knows the Godfather’s man)
Good one, Pan_Yan!
Perry Mason? I thought he was a good guy.
you’re right Politico just hates the idea of a REAL black man getting into power
