Sir Roger Moore has revealed he does not think Daniel Craig or Sean Connery were as good as him at playing 007. Sir Roger slammed Craig's latest offering Quantum of Solace and said he had struggled to decipher Connery's Scottish accent, in a speech at Cambridge University.
'Sean is a good actor, its a pity I cant understand what hes saying,' he said, according to the Daily Mirror.

Both were better James Bonds than the girly-man Sir Roger.

funny... I always thought the weakest Bond was Roger Moore.
I never imagined Bond to be pompous... which Roger exudes from every pore

I always thought the weakest Bond was Roger Moore. Beg to differ.
Not that Moore was all that great. Connery IS Bond.

Slightly off subject but my favorite portrayer of a British Counter Spy was Alec Guinness as George Smiley.

Connery IS Bond! George Lazenby was a better Bond than Daniel Craig. Heck, George Jefferson would be better than Daniel Craig.

Myself though I like Connerys brogue. Oh that brogue was perfect as he would deliver those punch lines like:
"Shocking - Positively shocking"
"I think they were on their way to a funeral" - As the hearse explodes.
"Do you mind if my friend sits this one out - she's just dead" - Bond after dancing with SPECTRE agent who just got shot.
"I think he got the point" - Bond after harpooning a guy to a tree.
"Just a stiffness coming on ... in the shoulder"

Moore always has that “goosed” look on his face.

Pretty funny coming from someone who NEVER was as good as the original 007——Sean Connery.

Moore played Bond as an aging poof. Come to think of it, Moore played pretty much every character as an aging poof.

Sorry, Sir Roger, but while you
played James Bond, Sean Connery
WAS James Bond!

Moore always came across as “the gay bond”. Sean Connery was obviously the best bond, but Casino Royale was the best bond movie, despite Craig. Quantum of Solace was almost as bad as most Moore/Bond films.

The silliness came from the scripts, not the actors.Roger Moore, in several interviews, has said that he was the one who decided to 'camp up' Bond.

You have good taste, George Smiley is one of my favorite literary characters and Sir Alec nailed him.

"Come to think of it, Moore played pretty much every character as an aging poof." Moore was good as Simon Templer, but fizzled as Bond. He also did well in "Wild Geese" with Richard Burton...

"Sean Connery was obviously the best bond..." You've got to tighten up your definition of "best". Obviously as the first big movie Bond, he set the standard and made for great cinema, but for rigid adherence to Fleming's character, I would have to give the tip of the hat to the highly under-rated Timothy Dalton.

Oh please. Daniel Craig is 10x the Bond that Moore was. I love the new Bond movies.
