But which ones? I tried several brands when I last has antibiotics - I’m sure the probiotics made it worse.

Which are the good probiotics? The amount of gas produced is a function of the flora in your gut. Which one produces less, and which more?

The best bet is not to go for oral probiotics, but for the introduction of an engineered flora via high colonic, along with an ideal growth medium just for it. That is, genetically engineer an entire complex flora so that they prefer a particular growth medium that the existing flora finds unpalatable.

It’s the same old story since the dawn of mankind - the constipated man wishes he had diarrhea, while the diarrheatic man wishes he was constipated!

I don't know what my family would do without probiotics (Douglass Labs is our fave), vitamin D3, and our chiro. Our general practitioner would love us though if we did have to do without.

Oh, my God. 47 days in the damn hospital, most of it on antibiotics, then they’d give you probiotics, among the pain meds and muscle relaxers and antiinflammatories.
Then they’d have to give you Milk of Magnesia! I swear half the meds they gave me were to counteract the other half.

The nursing staff said “if you’re in the hospital long enough you will get diarrhea.” Well they were right! Those wonderful drugs don’t just kill the bad bugs, but beneficial as well. And, the diarrhea medicine just wasn’t helping much. My cardiologist suggested “probiotic yogurt.” Worked very fast, was cheap and didn’t require any prescription! And, today’s yogurts taste pretty darn good. I love the low fat ones, with fruit.

I must say I miss Benny Hill, who was the master of diarrhea and toilet jokes in general!

The one thing I use when I get food poisoning is activated charcoal. It is a miracle “drug”

I can’t digest the capsules. I am too sensitive for that quantity in there. So I just start drinking kefir or eating good yogurt. There are other naturally fermented foods that work, too.
