He endorsed Romney in 2008 so he looks like a dang fool right now when he trashes Romney. The Iowans are well aware of this.

He also endorsed the PBA Gov Christie Todd Whitman in 1997.

And do not forget the Specter endorsement.

He may have cut a stalking deal with Romney.

And why did Perry crash so badly? His support of illegal alien amnesty. And what does Romney support? Same thing.

There’s a lot of people on both sides of the two-party system that want Romney to be the candidate. The RINO RNC promised it in payment for stepping aside for McLame 5 minutes into the 2008 primary. The MSM wants it because the DemonRats want it because it’s easy to pick apart his constant flip-flopping and lack of focus. Romney’s numbers are being inflated, no doubt about it.

I’m really worried that Romney is going to be dumped on us like McCain was.

We have a shot!!!!

Everyone who supports Cain, heck, anyone who doesn’t support Romney or Obama, give give give to Herman Cain! $9.99 isn’t much for most, so give! Some can’t give, so give twice, once more for the family who can’t spare it!

I believe Cain is all we’ve got protecting us from Romney or Obama for the next 4. And I LIKE him.

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum has spent more time in Iowa than any other candidate Wow just how bad a campaigner must Santorum be?

His permanent sideways scowl means spending time with him = LESS likelihood you'd want to see him every week on TV.

“Cain must be pushing to continue the federal corn subsidies—not for wasteful and toxic ethanol, but for good Southern cornbread;)”

As a good southerner, I doubt he has any problem with corn based ethanol. So long as it’s aged for at least a decade in oak barrels.

Yes, let the RINOs support a CONSERVATIVE candidate for once. Let them hold THEIR noses. I bet they won’t, though.

Looks like Perry should’ve been focusing on Cain, and not Romney, in the debates. He has to first win the quaterfinal match determining the leading social conservative candidate, before he has a chance to take on Romney in the semifinal match (with Obama awaiting the winner of the Republican bracket in the Championship Match).

If I were Perry, I’d stress a proven record of winning political races in a big, once competitive state, the ability to appeal to urban and rural voters, and to Hispanics, with an unapologetic conservative message.

Now, I don’t know if Perry would be interested in being a VP candidate (the way I believe Cain would be). But, clearly, Romney would have to name a conservative to the ticket “to secure the base.” If Perry were to do well in the primaries, he could be that guy. But, here’s how things are shaping up: Herman Cain is consolidating the conservative wing of the Republican Party. This would make him a very attractive running mate for Romney. Cain would be Romney’s wing man.

I don’t think it works the other way around. I don’t think Cain would need to name Romney or any other moderate as his running mate. Cain might name Newt Gingrich, whose total command of every issue is very impressive. Newt’s kind of a mainstream conservative, not really a moderate and not really a social conservative either.

Cain-Gingrich would be similar to Obama-Biden in that Biden supposedly made up for Obama’s obvious lack of experience, in or out of government, legislative or executive. Cain has good executive experience in the corporate sector, as well as represented a significant industry in Washington and served as director and chairman of the board of directors of a Federal Reserve Bank. But, what Cain lacks is experience in an elected office which, to a Republican, isn’t as important as it would be to a Democrat. But, Gingrich has that kind of experience in spades.

She’ll just blame it on her advisers who misled her on the specifics and offer a giant meaculpa and kiss his ring. Just kidding about the ring.

Just how easy will it be to land this on Ed Rollins and his merry band of elitist cronies? Just look to the 2008 campaign of the Huckster.

Reality, though, may be dawning in the drawing rooms and parlors o the GOP Establishment.

Mitt Romney: The Pretzel Candidate

If George Will has come to his senses, can the Establishment be far behind?

http://okhenderson.com/2011/10/29/context-oct-2007-iowa-poll/

“During the last election cycle, The Des Moines Register Iowa Poll released October 5, 2007 showed Romney leading Fred Thompson 29 to 18 percent. Mike Huckabee had 12 percent support in that poll, essentially tied with Rudy Giuliani, who had 11 percent. Read the details of that October 2007 poll here. Margin of error was +/- 4.9 percent, same as the Iowa Poll just released tonight. (In case you’re just joining us, Huckabee won the 2008 Iowa Caucuses, Romney was second; Fred Thompson was third.)”

I don’t buy the high Romney numbers.

I’m gonna laugh when Romney comes in at single digits in the REAL poll.

“His rise has come despite spending little time in Iowa recently, campaigning here just once since the Aug. 13 Iowa straw poll, where he placed fifth...........Cain’s got all the experts confused.”

He isn’t playing by THEIR (beltway pundits) rules. How dare he.

Perry crashed so bad because he looked senile in the debates.

After freezing up and then babbling incoherently it was very un-presidential.

I think it’s time for some of the other candidates like Bachmann, Santorum, and Gingrich to drop out and endorse Herman Cain. I would like to see them work to get him elected as well, and not only endorsing him. Sarah Palin needs to endorse him, and start campaigning for him soon as well.

The people who don’t get behind Cain early enough in the Primary are going to lose my respect, and hurt the entire Conservative movement. It’s becoming clear the nominee will be either Romney or Cain, and I don’t see why anyone else would stay in the race much longer considering they have either faded dramatically, or have always been extremely low in the polls. If they aren’t gaining in the polls now I don’t see them ever doing so.

I’m hoping the supposed Conservatives do the right thing because if they don’t we will get Romney as the nominee, along with a damaged Conservative base, and ruined reputations of politicians who are respected at the moment. It’s not just about not attacking Cain either, but inaction by people like Sarah Palin in the primary will hurt them. I don’t won’t these people waiting until Romney has the nomination when he doesn’t stand for anything we, or they supposedly, believe in.

I know a southern guy who got subsidized into the ethanol business, but it turned out he had a knack for making awesome rum out of it so now he's selling rum.

The Founding Fathers loved them their libations -- good men.
