No mention of In The Mouth of Madness so far. A John Carpenter movie, scary as Hell. Lots of psychological stuff but some gore that I thought was unnecessary.

For those of you who know who H.P. Lovecraft is, this is the best homage to his work. None of it is off a direct story, but it is a well made scary movie that uses a lot of Lovecraftian elements. Oh, and if any body asks you if you like Sutter Kane, the answer is YES!

I would easily rate Lovecraft and Virginia Wolfe as the scariest authors in the history of the English language.
And even though no one would consider him a “classic” author, Steven King had some pretty chilling stuff...
