Man charged in Orono toy monkey theft case

ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — Orono Police have charged a man for stealing a toy monkey from a display at the Circle K on Main St. last Saturday night.
Police have charged 22-year-old Noah Tetu from Penobscot with Class “E” theft. Tetu is pictured here in this security camera footage from inside the store.
Police say “Nanners” the monkey was stolen from the top of a banana display inside the store around midnight Saturday. They say the monkey belongs to the store owner and had been on display in the store for several years.
