Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich got worked up when asked about the Occupy Wall Street protests at last night's Bloomberg-Washington Post debate.
Gingrich first sought to tie the protests to "left-wing agitators" before calling for the firing of Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner.
He then doubled down, calling on former Sen. Chris Dodd and Rep. Barney Frank to be thrown in jail, not anyone on Wall Street. Asked if he actually meant for them to do prison time, Gingrich said he did, alluding to past ethical scandals.

There have been too many “Business Insider” articles that are anything but capitalistic in their thrust. You’d think a truly capitalistic publication would understand that the whole mess we’re dealing with now was caused by Congress forcing banks to grant loans and mortgages to people who couldn’t begin to pay them (all in the name of ‘fairness’ of course).
On the other hand, given WallStreet and the finance industry’s support of Obama and the very Congressthings who’ve pushed this legislation makes me unsympathetic to them, as well.
Yhea....
the recognition of Hard Truths / Facts usually helps burnishes ones' (soiled) social reputation.
the (Brilliant 8) political reputation is a known fact, but so is his "tin ear."
They did more damage to the economy than Madoff!!
It’s quit a mess, isn’t it?
Wall Street is liberal in that they gave the money to Ozero to get elected, and they support him now. They have bought what they want.
As to the banks being “forced”, I don’t think they were “forced” anymore than the homeowners were “forced”.
Sure they were being sued to do these loans. But they also knew it was bad. So bad, that they went and made “paper bets” that are still blowing up. They made a deal with the devil, and they shouldn’t be surprised at getting burned.
They didn’t have to go along to get along.
They could have just gone out of business and kept their principles intact. And the spectacle of these banks being run out of business would have been better for the country as to what was going on. By going along with it, they gave the marxists cover. And now the nation is imperiled by their self interest.
The OWS people are a bunch of idiot tools, but Wall Street does share some of the blame.

... we have in the notes that Though mandated only in 10 states, ethanol blends in the US are available in other states as optional or added without any labeling, making E blends present in two-thirds of the US gas supply.
Refreshing isn’t it.
