I had signed up on FR after my overnight subzero wait to meet Sarah for her booksigning (I still have 3 extra signed books). I did not view her possible candidacy as destiny or anything so dramatic, but I had sincerely hoped for it as Sarah is a Godly, wise and brave woman and seems to be so much the opposite of Obama. One of the things that truly impressed me was her advocacy for Israel. I wish Sarah and her family well.
The reason I had hoped for a Palin candidacy was that I had believed that she may be able to start to right the sinking ship that is America. But I fully accept that it will not be the case at least until 2016 (and very possibly never). And for those that likewise believed that Palin was meant to be our candidate, there was once a possibility that even Queen Esther would refuse to be the person that would be instrumental in rescuing Israel. Esther chose to participate, but her uncle Mordecai made it clear that if not Esther, then there would be someone else. My hope for a Palin candidacy was never about Sarah herself. It was because I believed she was someone who would courageously follow the truths of God as it relates to public life and policy. If she will not be a candidate, we must move on and accept that there are reasons for such outcomes.
One thing that is now readily apparent is the fallacy that some believed that Sarah would somehow be more effective at promoting conservative causes as a non-candidate. Sarah was very effective ONLY because of the possibility that she may become president. Without that possibility, she is not much different than someone like Condi Rice--at one time very relevant for America, and for now much less so. To see that Sarah was very instrumental in guiding the 2010 elections and thinking that she could wield such influence even after public knowledge that Sarah was not running -- well that's just very shortsighted.
It's not super important that we decide on a candidate right now. We knew Sarah well -- we may need to look wisely to see who is a genuine conservative that will win. It's important to me however, that we win in 2012 -- I'd even take a win with a less conservative candidate rather than have the alternative outcome.
This is a farewell to all those who have worked so hard for Sarah and America. Thanks Onyx, 2ndDiv, SE Ohio, Virginia Ridgerunner, and so many others. You guys were truly fantastic and tireless. Much admiration for your incredible and gargantuan effort that everyone here knows about. This is probably my last post regarding Sarah. May God forgive and bless America.
“She isnt even in the race.
I dont understand this venom for our own”
Hmmm, mebbe they’re NOT “our own” and were trolls all along, eh? That would certainly ‘splain it!

You didn’t answer what I said. If Palin’s late announcement didn’t hurt other the candidate’s from gaining support from her supporters, then that means Palin did not have a large group supporting her, as the media claimed. It seems like you agree with the media that Palin did not have a large group of support since you don’t think candidates were hurt by her late decision. Candidates all the time lose staff. Choosing Ed Rollins was a bad decision.
It’s people like you I’m glad she’s not running.
Can you prove that she was asked twice a week on avg?
If not, how often did you actually read her Facebook posts?
Did you really follow what she was saying in those posts?
If not then STFU!
“Considering runnng” is NOT a commitment to run! Are you one of those “English as a second language” folks, eh? Just asking.....
JC
So you can’t back up who and how was hurt. So you can’t back up your smear you accused SARAH of. You are just what your posts show - PDS.
Nothing more to say.
Why would she have said that, when her daughter said in June that she had definitely knew if she was or wasn’t running? She was misleading her supporters, moron.
Exactly!
Well I do certainly still support Rick Perry if you are questioning that. I just wanted to take a moment, while I still had the chance, to say that Sarah Palin has had a great place in our history (2008 and the foundation of the Tea Party - a great gift to have given us), and I have never had much of a chance to say any of that in previous weeks or months because I felt I would be crucified by some for supporting Perry instead of Sarah Palin in this race.
I did not mean to come over to this thread and somehow start anything with you. I obviously know Sarah is not running, and I detest those few trolls, here and even more on various other sites, who linger on pulling people’s heart strings. I have NEVER liked those trolls mocking as they did, and I called a couple out on that out of fairness.
I have HATED that our party was so split these last few months that I felt I couldn’t even come over to a Sarah Palin thread and even say something nice of her for fear of getting pushed away. Maybe I wouldn’t have been pushed out, but I felt as if I would have been.
So now, with it all over, I just wanted those real Palin supporters to know that some of us other folk appreciate what Sarah Palin did and what she stood for, and yes, I hope she finds a place in life to continue to add in a meaningful way. She gave us The Tea Party movement in many ways - not JUST her, but she was a major part in helping us form that identity and feel it was not only possible but needed to stand up and fight our government. I think we owe her a little bit of our hope for her future at least.
I’m sorry if I bothered you, but if anyone else sees this, please know there were some of us out there who appreciated your candidate and who wish you all well as you go on, be it with Perry, Cain, Newt, or whoever you go with from this point on.
Blessings to you all.
I'm still undecided, and I haven't seen anything in the last month or so that would change that. I see no other candidate with the qualities that Palin has. Rick Perry doesn't do it for me and the more I see of Herman Cain the less I like him as a candidate. I think he's a great guy and an intelligent guy, but I think he's going to be a disaster if he wins the nomination. Just because someone's bright and a like-able person, doesn't mean they'll make a good candidate.
Anyway, I just don't see any significant difference if Palin had announced earlier. You'd probably see some difference in numbers, but that's about it. I doubt you would have seen a difference in the pool of candidates, and that's really the only "harm" that can be affected here.
“Sometimes I just cant help myself from biting back.”
Betcha you won the best of breed chihuahua competition, eh?
One of those yap-yap mutts!

You’re a moron, you couldn’t give me an answer to my statement. If she had a lot of support, then how can you say Palin’s late decision didn’t hurt the other candidates from not receiving that support? Clearly, Bachmann, Cain, Perry, Cain would have had that support or maybe Gingrich.
But then that would mean that Palin didn’t have a lot of support if she wasn’t hurting the others by not announcing.
Spikes in your eyes.
Thank you. I’m not supporting any of the candidates. I’ve been down this road with the GOP too many times. It’s not happening any more. So all the best with your support of Perry. Too bad MB didn’t show the conservative she claims to be and go after Mitt. Her campaign attacked Sarah and then she went after Perry. Actions speak louder than words. And MB reaped what she sowed.
“Why did she use that bus for a vacation?”
Same reason thousands of other people take vacations in their bus - it’s big, comfortable, hauls lots of folks and has its own accomodations! What, are you stupid or something?
JC
Did you see the outside of it, moron? It was done to fool her supporters into thinking she was running.
You couldn’t answer my question. If she had so much support, then how could it not have hurt the other candidates who weren’t getting those Palin supporters while Palin was deciding? You can’t backup your claim.
