At the end of the Braves game, did anyone hear the F-bomb by Morgan?

Of course, I doubt anything will come of it as it wasn’t uttered by a white conservative.

After submitting to the Brewers they were able to relax and perform.

Umm remember that 3 game sweep at home the last time they played? Milwaukee had a good month in August. I don’t think October is going to go so well. That’s appropriate, it never has . Not for the Braves, or Brewers

He and the interviewer were talking about squirrels.

Heard the f-sharps loud and clear. In defense of the player he was shouting at the fans and not part of an interview.

I had no stake in this series and really didn’t care who won, but I gotta say I’m really surprised the Phillies could ever lose a series with a starting rotation like that.

They did it last year too. The second time was an easy bet.None of their starters had an outstanding record against the Cards to begin with. Match that with the teams hitting slump and they were ripe for the picking. Lifelong Cards fan, so I am a little jaded

A great performance no doubt...but Gibson definitely had better than even this. I’d have to look it up but I believe Steve Carlton did as well. Not to diminish the greatness of Carpenter’s performance...if he can be compared to these guys, he might end up making the Hall of Fame.

Detroit-St. Louis rematch?

God save us from that. Go Rangers. What will Leyland Have his pitcher do next to hide a gunk ball? Last night it was a huge facial bandage loaded with vaseline, last time it was Kenny Rogers with the dirtball. Keep this scumbag away from the World Series

He lobbed at least 4 bombs that I heard. He KNEW the cameras were on him and he didn’t care.

Typical Amish behavior....

Sounds good to me. Two class organizations with great players

:{) ...you’re probably right. Familiarity breeds contempt, the bench clearing brawls will be entertaining even to sunshine fans like myself. I still wear my “Spahnie Night” button with pride, though.

He deserves Hall of Fame just for the number of times he’s had career ending arm injuries and surgeries. Toronto gave him up for dead after his first, and I think he’s had three more with the Cards

LOL...you are right. He has been absolutely amazing at times this year, more than 140 pitches in a complete game this year. It is hard not to root for a guy who has gone through what he has and still excelled. He has talent and grit. If I had a vote, he’d get it.

BTW...congrats to the “lifelong Cardinal’s fan” from a lifelong Dodger’s fan. Enjoy it and good luck against the Brewers (I think you’ve drawn a tough opponent there).

That’s a good point. They never seemed to really put it all together with that marvelous staff.

Props to the Cards for an amazing run the last month. 23 out of 30 I think.

The Cards most certainly deserve our proper respect.

Typical Amish behavior....

We can't say that any more. No doubt you have heard of the Amish extremists ravaging communities in Ohio, cutting off men's beards and women's hair...The local Sheriffs have sought to apprehend the perps but the Amish say "just pray for them." The sheriff said, "put them in jail first, then pray for them."

I'm sure many will assume this is a crank parody posting. It is not. This is currently happening. You can look it up.

You know what really would have been a killer, if Howard actually hit the ball through the infield, but still got thrown out at first to end the game, because of his leg problem.....I really felt for him after the game...that’s a tough way to end a season.

Cliff Lee, Roy Halladay, Cole Hamels and Roy Oswalt made up the best 1-4 rotation I've seen since the Braves of the 1990s. They were so good that Vance Worley, who went 11-3 and is a serious contender for the National League Rookie of the Year award, was relegated to the bullpen for this series.
A deep starting rotation can be dominated by a couple of great starters in a short series.

5 games is ridiculous. But what're ya gonna do; the playoffs could run to Halloween if they had all seven game series.

The Cardinals can thank Charlie Manuel and the Phillies for beating Atlanta on the last game of the season for them. Not that the Braves didn't deserve to lose, but the Phillies played to win and they did, when a loss seemed likely to be to their advantage.

The Cardinals really came through when they beat Cliff Lee in game 2. Lee went a whole month without giving up a run, and had plenty of playoff success in recent years - and the Cardinals beat him handily.

But again, the Phillies' offense is mediocre - middle of the pack in RBIs. Hunter Pence helped the offense in the season, not so much in the playoff which was the real reason they wanted him since they were running away with their division. What can you do?

The Phillies are very much a veteran team, even tho they had Worley come up and win 10 games for them when Roy Ozwalt went down with back miseries. The Cardinals must have had an awful lot of bad luck early, to have been 10 games behind Atlanta. But the Phillies had their share, with Victorino, Utley, and Rollins missing serious time to injuries. Not to mention that Howard was hobbling through the last month of the season. Those guys are too good to replace, but not good enough to carry you in a short series. Tho Rollins was hitting in the series, just not in the 5th game.

It’s going to be a long time before we see another season like the one Bob Gibson had in 1968, even though they lost the Series in 7 games, they won the Series the year before.

He wouldn’t give you any of the plate either as he would give you a close shave if you tried to crowd it.

As for Cliff Lee, he was supposed to be unbeatable last year and there was no way that the light hitting Giants would beat him, but they did and not just once, but twice in a 5 game WS, and he subsequently jumped to the Philly’s and was a bust in the NLDS
