Some Initial Palin Thoughts
10/6/2011 | vanity

Posted on 10/06/2011 5:18:21 PM PDT by CondoleezzaProtege

I have more to say, but for now:

I do not believe this (her ultimate decision) was something she went back and forth over constantly in the past few months or years. I believe that not only did she leave the governorship of Alaska with 2012 and the US presidency in mind--but she left McCain's concession stage the night Barack Obama was elected in '08, with 2012 and the US Presidency in her sights.

I believe there was careful strategy behind the timing of her book releases, their content, and the way they were written and the way they ended. There was *political* strategy behind choosing to go on Oprah to do her first interview following her resignation--and to meet with Barbara Walters shortly thereafter. I do not believe she chose to go on Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno's return to The Tonight Show episode just because she "loves" being a celebrity. I believe all of it was political and part of her efforts to appear before the masses unfiltered and real. AKA: she was campaigning.

I believe there was strategic considerations about her personal political future behind her decision to become a Fox commentator and her efforts to revamp her media image. Same goes for her decision to invite cameras into her home for "Sarah Palin's Alaska" and I'm sure she even saw the hidden political benefit of having Bristol Palin win the minds and hearts of the public on "Dancing With the Stars."

I believe she changed her foreign policy advisors early this year in light of her presidential aspirations. I believe she went to Israel, India, and Haiti (Sudan was cancelled) and Korea (which she is scheduled to visit next week) with the US presidency in mind.

I believe her decision to release "The Undefeated" in Iowa and key voting states had electoral considerations in mind. I believe every SarahPAC YouTube video screamed "will be running soon, watch out." Her bus tour, her facebook notes touting her record, and her retweets which linked to her most key supporters and supporting organizations like Conservatives4Palin and TammyBruce were intended to encourage site viewers to see her in the context of a potential candidacy.

I believe all her speeches in Iowa and New Hampshire in early September were serving as very BLATANT precursors to her running: touting her experience fighting crony capitalism in Alaska, talking about "HER plan" for the country, etc...etc...

I believe that up until even two weeks ago: she had the fire in her belly. She is a fierce competitor with unlimited energy.

I believe she is confident in her ability to beat Barack Obama and run a fantastic, history-making campaign that breaks all expectations and conventions.

EVEN TINA FEY parodied Palin's "2012 aspirations" on one of her final appearances on SNL the end of the last election cycle. All of Palin's most vociferous haters and denyers, were deep down, expecting Sarah Palin to run...

Which is why, I believe:

Her decision to not run was a very carefully thought out--but last minute decision she's made over the past two weeks at the MOST. I know the lives and safety of her children were of utmost consideration and that there were several recent issues that must have initiated severe worry.

But ultimately, I believe there is more to it that she won't ever say. There is so much that we don't know--about the inner workings of the GOP, for example, that we simply are not a part of and will never see. But I do believe there were things that happened or that she has learned of in these past few DAYS that ultimately led to her final breaking point decision...Something dramatic and sudden, and something more political in nature--than having to do with family.

That's just my guess.

Ultimately, I believe this was simply GOD's way of telling America: at this point, you're not deserving or worthy of a godly leader. You blew it.

That's what my next post will be about.

You want to damn America, at least have the courage to take personal responsibility for your words. God has nothing to do with what you're saying.

You shills have really reached bottom.

"Uhmmmm weren’t you kinda being the posting police FIRST?"

Not really, it was a request since I wasted 5 minutes of my life reading this drivel. If somebody wants to put it out there in a public forum, they should expect to hear what others think. Rather than be as snarky as this POS vanity really begged for, I summed it up in one nice sentence ... I even said please.

On the other hand, the person to whom I was responding was doing nothing more than trying to instruct me how I should conduct myself in forum ... even requesting a donation after the lesson.

I see a difference. YMMV.

Hannity show, Sept 20.

That was right after whatever happened. That is when the change occurred so look to events just before then if you must have an answer.

To me, whatever it was, death threat to her, Todd or the kids, whatever, she ain't talking and that is her business.

If, IF we are lucky she will handle it and give the Republic another 2010 in 2012. We just might get the senate back and we will damn well need that if any one of the current RINO's or thinly disguised dems get the nomination.

I was wondering when anyone would stop and think... 2 + 2... humm. .

>>But at that point, something inside me said (even as I hoped it were not true) -- "She might not be running."<<

I had that exact same feeling at that time. I also saw what you saw and knew in my spirit at that point that she wasn’t going to run. Something that happened or there was an event in her life that jelled in her spirit that to run was not the right thing to do. I think she knew in her spirit that night that she was not to run but was still struggling against that in her flesh but ultimately made the right decision.

>>But, to be fair, even in the Iowa Passion video, she talked about the need for ordinary Americans to get involved and take the country back.<<

That’s another aspect that enters here. People were relying on one person to turn things around rather then collectively being a force. Had Palin run the tendency would have been to put all the responsibility to turn this country around on her. If she had been elected many would have gone back into complacency in the false sense that “all is well” and the collective momentum would have stopped. Did she also sense that in her spirit? Did she subconsciously know that by stepping into the mix as a candidate she would have given that out for people? Who’s to know.

>>I wish I were at peace with this: but I fear dark days ahead as I watch Obaama and his Orcs move the pieces towards a classic Marxist takeover:<<

Interesting that I am just the opposite. I am completely at peace. I happen to believe that we are in the last day prophetically. I would have been more ill at ease if she had run. Believing as I do that we are in the last days I believe had she become President she would have been in a no win position. If indeed God has decided that now is the time nothing is going to alter the course. I can assure you that I am not being defeatist in that but am excited that I am securely in His hands and secure in the knowledge that He is in control.

All in all, I believe Palin prayed “Not my will but thine be done” and won.

Who’s she going to spout it to, Piper?

She no longer has the effect on the media she once had!

Palin killed her own worth by quitting.

That's why I pinged you; CondoleezzaProtege's piece tied in with things you recently posted on another thread.

I don't *know* that we're in the last days; some of the signs are intriguing; but I fear a repeat of the "Hal Lindsey" syndrome in which Christians check out and allow the culture to go to Hell because "Oh, Boy, JESUS IS COMING SOON"TM.

We are called to be Salt and Light; We are called to overcome evil with Good.

It is for that reason that I think our motto ought to be (see my vanity Sarah Ringbearer, or, A Gift From Frodo) --

"LET'S GET THE BASTARDS -- FOR SARAH!"

Cheers!

>> We are called to be Salt and Light; We are called to overcome evil with Good.<<

That’s exactly why I believe the attitude of some with the Hal Lindsey deal and just this year with the Camping deal is totally unbiblical. Even if we are convinced that we are in the last days we are still to keep doing what the Lord has called us to do. The only thing I think it’s important for people to understand prophecy is to not fear the things that are happening. Knowing we can rest assured that God is indeed in control and we are in His plan if we rely on only Him for our salvation. I can truly say with excitement “come quikly Lord Jesus”! Although I have to admit that I hope I’m around to see some of them get theirs.

>> "LET'S GET THE BASTARDS -- FOR SARAH!"<<

I’m with you on that one but I would change it to “WITH SARAH” because I believe she is still and will always be “one of us”.

I believe Romney is terrible, Perry is a poor candidate and Cain isn't a very good alternative.

Awesome, ain't it?

We are watching 2007-2008 and the good candidates will get picked off first, followed by least to most offensive RINOs until we may as well be voting for bammy.

The establishment GOP is gonna double down their 2008 McCain with a 2012 endorsement of the MittWitt. They know he will play ball and can actually survive the DC sharkpen, unlike Perry who would play ball but can not survive.

That leaves Cain and he has more history that most care to discuss. I just don't think Cain would go the distance.

Currently, the overall picture sucks, squared, then cubed.

“Palin killed her own worth by quitting.”

How is it quitting a presidential campaign if you never started one?

If you do not like what are on these threads then go troll your butt on another about your man crush candidate.

You are like a stalker, nobody wants to know what you think, yet you keep showing up with your stupid blather.

Why don't you do something that will upgrade your credentials like go peek in windows.

It isn't about Palin 'quitting', but more about some not liking to be proven wrong. Me? No biggie because I had a backup plan and never threw all my eggs in Palin's basket. To scramble around and whine and cry says more about the 'sky is falling, she betrayed me!' crowd than it does Palin.

Anyone who was waiting on Palin to do what THEY want played the wrong cards, period.

“I seriously doubt if Churchill would have cared much about his wife’s opinion if she had requested that he step down as Prime Minister...or if there was some piddly legal action that he coulod have taken care of via his lawyers.”

Uh, Palin is not prime minister, (president) so she steps down from nothing.

If you think her bringing suit against JM/RH while running for president would be just some piddly legal action, then you and I do reside in the same universe.

Count me in! I’ve often thought/hoped that Sarah would be the last Godly servant leading the Republic before all Hell (literally) breaks loose, but as of a few weeks ago, back in September, I too felt a check in my spirit when Sarah spoke, and hearkened back to a man in California last year speaking of what he was given as a vision to who would be a future President. Not going to cast pearls before swine at this time but let’s just say it now makes sense and is coming into view.

Sarah has never shied away from publicly giving God the glory and declaring Him on the Throne. I think God will be using this woman still. It’s not our calling she’s responsible for, it’s hers - we have ours too.

I think your wife is right. I felt upset for five minutes about 7 PM last night, but could not dwell on this because I had too many things to do. Now after thinking about this a bit, I am upbeat that Sarah did the right thing knowing that there was one decent candidate(Herman Cain) in that mess of Pubby debris.

I am upbeat that SP will be a huge influence and will be back in no time.

The filth that has been posted on some of these threads really degrades this website, and those people should be ashamed of themselves.

Ah. Thanks for demonstrating the typical mindless hate I spoke of in my post to you. Troll? Stalker? Why the extreme meltdown over me discussing my response on a opinionated vanity thread I thought was wrong? Do you take these comments as a personal insult? My theory is based far more on reality with the world we live in than others I have read over the past day.
