I am writing to express my displeasure with the decision of ESPN to pull Hank Williams, Jr. from your Monday Night Football opening.
Mister Williams did nothing more than express his opinion on a television show. The last time that I checked, we still have a United States Constitution (I served to defend it in the Marine Corps) and we still have the freedom to express our displeasure with our government and our elected officials.
There never seemed to be an issue with that when President Bush was in office.
Since you choose to ignore Mr. Williams right to free speech, I will no longer watch your broadcasts in my home. Many of my friends share my views on this.
May your ratings follow Mr. Obama's poll numbers.
Sincerely,
X.X.Xxxxx XXXXXXXX, Texas USA
yikes, my eyes! Shouldn’t a woman that looks like that be molesting boys in some high school somewhere?
Good question, brother!
Will scope it out.
The idea of an all sports network was one I enthusiastically embraced when I first got cable TV many years ago. However, as things worked out, it wasn’t long before I no longer could stomach watching ESPN. Firing Hank Jr. just adds to my detestation of all things ESPN.
So the twits did fire him. Darned shame.
I heard the replay and I agree with you.

I haven’t watched Monday Night Football since Cosell and Dandy Don, I guess.
If they would put Rush Limbaugh, Dennis Miller, and Hank Jr. on there I might go back to it just for the entertainment. Maybe throw Christiane Amanpour on the sidelines for the helluvit, that could be interesting. No, wait, Whoopi Goldberg, now that’s the ticket. That would be some good TV.
FUESPN. Who cares about you?
....this has little boy king all over it. He probably threw a hissy fit and Momma Jarrett had her hands full calming the stoooopid brat down. Someone fearing a major clean up called for an American icon to be “taught a lesson”....
Convenient, that both teams are bad teams and up against the ALDS , so viewership is down, it can all be cleared up in the morning *wink wink nudge nudge*....but it won’t be forgotten.
lol No doubt!
THAT BEING SAID--The folks at ESPN and all liberals are certainly the ultimate hypocrites considering they never complained about the "Bushitler" nonsense.
The world would be a better place, if entertainers of all sorts didn’t feel compelled to try to fix the world — and if reporters, fans, and everyone else told them all to just “shut up and sing”.
He had every right to say what he did. No one denies that. ABC had the right to fire him. Did your mama ever tell you about the wisdom in choosing your battles wisely?
Shhhhhhhhhhh....don’t give the maggots any ideas......
NFL is skating on thin ice.
If the right is smart, it will destroy them.
The NFL is nothing but an extension of the slave trade, with no guarantee contracts and extreme black against black violence, blood money.
Somebody over there had better find a clue quick, because if Hank Jr doesnt sing tonight, the NFL might as well start using a soccer ball, because NASCAR NFL fans WILL REVOLT.
Interesting that the liberals didn’t assume that the Netanyahu reference was Obama, only Hitler.
I turn down the sound no matter when I watch a game, so I don’t see or hear them. I listen to the local announcers.
I really do weep for this country.
Great letter. I don’t know what happened as I have no TV...but your sentiments are great.
Would you mind elaborating on exactly what happened?
TIA
