I’m going to try to do this one little post. I still have on the dark glasses and can’t see the keys too well BUT I can’t stand the lights with my eyes so dilated. I found out what a retinal occlusion is today....its actually a small stroke to the back of the eye.
They injected dye into my veins so they could see the back of the eye and took a bunch of pictures. The good news is the blurriness in my right eye can be turned around with the injections to the eye about once a month. He said they could do drops but they didn’t do nearly as well as the injections. It scares me to think I will have a needle injected into my eye but I do want to do all possible to correct this situation. He didn’t seem to think I had as much damage as others he’s seen. I get really nervous about that needle though.
My first injection will be on the 12th (next week). I can get this done in Bristol as the Retinal Specialists travel from Bristol, Johnson City (where I went today), Kingsport and Abingdon. I think that will be easier for me and the ones who have to take me. My sweet DIL took me today and Barry said he could take me next time.
I haven’t been able to enjoy the thread too much because of this brightness. Just wanted you all to know the situation. You may say a prayer that I want get too nervous over the needle and can get my eye better. I would appreciate it very much. (((((Hugs)))))
Happy there is a treatment..Prayers for calmness when the needle is injected..
I know it would be hard (impossible) for me to not blink!
I believe the angels will be with you, Jaycee, during this precedure and your fears will go away!!
Before you know it, it'll be over with!
Thanks for letting us know, Jaycee! (((hugs)))
Prayers that whatever they decide to do will help you so you can be back to posting your beautiful graphics!
*HUG*
Wish I could go with you and hold your hand!
No worries, all will be well.
I will dispatch one of my angels to you on those dates!
Seriously, prayers will go with you!
The injections won't be felt as your eye will be deadened and they'll use little forceps to keep the eye open. If you blink...no problem! :)
Don't over exert your eyes.
Dear Jaycee;
My Mom had those treatments and her eyesight has IMPROVED.
And be of good cheer...NOBODY on the planet is more nervous about needles than my Mom. So You will do fine.
You are in my prayers.
(((HUGS)))
(((((Many Hugs!)))))
Dear Jaycee!! I’m just now reading this and so sorry you are having this trouble! I know how scary it is for you. I had the optic migraines and then the two cataract surgeries that seemed to take up all my summer, but yours is more serious and I will keep you in my prayers every day.
I would think they will deaden your eye with the numbing drops they used for my cataract surgery. Praying hard for you friend, that you get through this ordeal and your eyes will be fine! No need to reply. ((HUGS))
