The Door is Wide Open (Palin's opportunity)
C4P ^ | 9-24-2011 | Doug Brady

After Thursday night’s debate, it’s more clear than ever that the door is more than cracked: It’s wide open. The two so-called frontrunners are both fatally flawed candidates. Mitt Romney is so utterly unmoored by anything approaching conservative convictions or, let’s face it, any convictions at all (other than his desire to be president) that it’s impossible for him to speak on an issue without contradicting the multiple positions he’s taken. Rick Perry, it’s increasingly clear, has his own issues and is simply not ready for prime time. William Kristol, after watching Thursday night’s “debate”, had one word to describe the current GOP field: “Yikes“:

Bachmann is done. She screwed the pooch with her hysterical reaction to the HPV vaccine non-issue. Hope she enjoys a long career in Congress though. We need a conservative in that seat.

My Take:

Perry is basically conservative but he “has a heart” which means he would inflict some horrendous entitlements and mandates on us as President. Perry would turn into LBJ.

Bachman, again, basically conservative in goals but doesn’t seem to understand how things work. She would not be

“her own man.”

Gingrich is a Politician, first and foremost. He goes with what seems to be the leading fads, AGW, Amnesty, etc. He would be a disaster.

Trump would be a good man but he won’t run and is too much seen as a clown by conservatives as well as MSM.

Huntsman is directly representing Democrat interests and is adding his face to the Romney Primary vote.
Christie is a good conservative in his proper milieu which is the NorthEast. As president he would

probably be Nixon and I am not referring at all to Watergate.

The rest provide some background noise.

Cain and Palin are the only ones that seem to be capable of doing the necessary things quickly and without being swayed by the crybabies in their own party and the MSM.

We could still get Palin. I hope so. She is showing some signs of another Republican malady, waiting too long to make a significant move. With Dole and the Bushes and McCain and Ford the “right time” never came. Bush II managed to pull it out anyway.

Why don't you tell us why you think she IS qualified to be POTUS.

BTW, I think she thinks the same way I do...and won't run. She hasn't tried to get more experience.

A two year guv of Alaska...pop. 700,000 of mostly white people, does not have the experience to be POTUS!

Why do you think she is qualified.

She would be better than Obama...but anybody would be.

I know even .005% of the public would be a wave on his FB page, but I am telling you, the majority are afraid of major changes IMO.
I think they can handle letting a third of the government go before 999. He has to sell it more.

It’s hard to sell something when every major news outlet is cheerleading for your opponent and ignoring you, but I guarantee Herman Cain is working hard. We all are.

Sarah IS getting in the race. Cain will not be able to generate the excitement necessary to topple Romney’s stifling advertising campaign. Only Sarah can. Now, if Cain could actually be the nominee, I’d be content, be he’s no Sarah Palin. We NEED Sarah now. Bob

I’m sort of leaning towards, ‘Yikes’ at this point, too.

I'm not leaning, I'm there. Add Sarah and Christie to the race and I will still be there. All I know now is that I will support whoever wins the primary.

The problem is no one knows if Palin can debate her way out of a wet paper bag, either. Remember the Katie Couric interview? Giving speeches is much safer than being subject to the circular firing squad.

Actually Palin won the Governor’s spot in Alaska after a strong debate performance.

Go to You Tube and watch her debating skills. Did you see her debate with Biden ‘the pro debater’?

Well she cleaned plugs clock in the vp debate. She is a lot smarter than president titanic.

Cain/Palin/West/Rubio pick 2.

Cain is solid and I would gladly vote for him. Palin has the charisma that I have’t seen since Reagan and she is right on all the issues like H Cain.

Me too. I admire Palin, but as time goes on, the more Cain impresses me.

Hello ak267 -

Every time drivel like what Mikey_1962 posted, is posted by someone like Mikey_1962, they are secretly crossing their fingers, and hoping that someone like you does not come along to give them the kind of smackdown that you gave.

Thank you for saving me the trouble.

Seriously, I don’t even know why they bother. It’s like they’re aiming to prey on ignorance and laziness, because to refute a content-free accusation like “She resigned!” someone has to drag out many of the things you did.
