I saw a quote on Facebook and I was surprised that the person in question said this. Let's see if my fellow FReepers can guess who said the following...
"Should any political party attempt to abolish Social Security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes that you can do these things, but their number is negligible and they are stupid."
Great! Will save and pass it on!
Now, let me get this straight . . . We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents and a militarized civilian "ready reserve corps," authorized by a 2,500 page bill written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President who smokes, with funding administered by a Treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes but will make sure we pay ours, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect and which takes billions away from Medicare, scored by a non-partisan Congressional Budget Office that says it will add another trillion dollars to the national debt anyway, all to be overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese, and financed by a government that is already broke and has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, is that right? What could possibly go wrong?
Maxine
My Daddy, a World War II officer, had great respect for General Patton. As for Eisenhower, he always said ‘Ike couldn’t properly pour piss out of a boot even if the directional arrow was stamped on the heel.’
Terrific! As long as you enjoy passing things along. How about this?

To the President and all 535 voting members of the Legislature, both parties. It is now official you are ALL corrupt morons:
a.. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke
b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.
c. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.
d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the poor” and they only want more.
e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.
f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.
g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.
You have FAILED in every “government service” you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.
AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM?
EXCELLENT!
BTTT
ping
I don’t know why you randomly chose me to be on your ping list...without my request or permission I might add...but please remove me tonight.
done!
HAHA!! Sounds about right to me! not
I’ve been surprised to read that even in its earliest days the people who came up with soc sec realized it was doomed.
This really amazed me as I had always thought: how could they foresee the birth control pill?
I’d appreciate any comments about this.
I also have to say, if I don’t get the soc sec I’m expecting to get I may be ruined. Of course, the way things are going I may be ruined anyway.
The suck had just gone on way too long. I’m a bookkeeper, I do NOTHING except stress about money now. My company’s money, my money, it’s just dreadful and it has been dreadful for 3 years solid now and for about 5 out of the last 7 years.
Please, I implore all Freepers and Lurkers and Friends, vote for Obama’s Republican opponent next November.
Whether it’s Perry or Palin or Romney or Somebody Else, just vote for that person.
GET THIS NINCOMPOOP OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE!
bookmarked!
