Shouldn’t be a problem. There is always a massive waste around here.
I'd be more worried about the shortage of pumpkin pie.
About ten years ago here in Connectcut, there was a flood that washed away a number of pumpkin patches a little later in the year.
My brother, who could never resist getting something for nothing, was pulling pumpkins out of the Farmington River as they floated downstream.
Use potatoes instead. That’s what they do in Idaho.
I’m more concerned about the upcoming Texas Beef shortage. After all, Beef actually tastes good.
Bummer, it is so much fun to pick your own pumpkin. However, there are many fine artificialm ones at the craft store. I bet there will be a general shortage of pumpikins for pies as well. Double bummer.
I carved a Jack-O-Apple one year.
Think about halloween pumpkins a bit....99% of them wind up in the garbage anyways...
The “pumpkin shortage” story is becoming a yearly thing. I begin to think this is nothing more than some boiler plate story newspapers print every year out of simple laziness. That, and there being no real news for them to unearth; I mean other than Fast and Furious, the Solyndra scandal, and other such topics that would involve actual work on the part of actual newspapermen. There being no newspapermen, but only publicists and propagandists for the current regime, this is the sort of story we get. Pumpkins.
