WHERE and HOW will Sarah Palin declare that she is running? [Now that we finally know WHEN...]

WHERE and HOW
do you think Sarah Palin will declare
that she is running for President,
now that we finally know WHEN she will do it?

Within the last week or two,
just about EVERYONE who is ANYONE in the pro-Palin community
has posted online that Governor Palin will announce that she is running for President
on "Constitution Day" --
with virtually NONE of the traditional smackdown and/or denials coming from SarahPAC,
or from any of the usual "insiders" at Team Sarah --
who have generally been VERY GOOD at rumor control.

So, if she really **is** getting into the race on Friday (or Saturday)
WHERE and HOW
do you think that she will do this?

Will she do announce, for example, though a recorded VIDEO,
as an homage to Hillary! -- and a secret signal to the PUMAs?

And, how will she honor her commitment
to let the "Bob and Mark" radio show be "the first to know" of her decision?

Will she do it from her home in ALASKA?

Or from the site of the original Tea Party in BOSTON?
Or, perhaps from PHILADELPHIA -- or even from WASHINGTON, D.C.?

What do YOU think?

Can YOU predict
what the "unpredictable" Sarah Palin will do?

And, how will she get the MAXIMUM media attention?

Please post YOUR predictions on this thread -- for posterity,
if you dare. :o)

How about a little logic here on FR..which is a rare commodity I agree! Anyway why would she run...she’s making more money than she ever dreamed possible
First, for MANY people, there is more to life than MONEY -- like perhaps, leaving this country a better place than you found it.
It sounds like you may be "projecting" YOUR priorities on Governor Palin.
Second, if she were truly "just in this for the money," running for President would be absolutely IMPERATIVE.
What better way to "maximize her brand" than to go down in a blaze of glory -- a la "Charge of the Light Brigade" - or Ron Paul?
As soon as she is NOT seen as a possible Presidential candidate, her income sources will diminish considerably.

I trust her judgment.
Bingo!

If we're going to trust her enough to be PRESIDENT...

...we certainly ought to be able to trust her plans for ACHIEVING that objective. :o)

Should Nixon have quit? Anthony Weiner? Wu?

The answer, of course, is yes, they should have quit. But the next question is, having quit, would you vote for any of them again?

I’m beginning to have visions of Palin supporters dressed in jumpsuits and sneakers committing mass suicide the day she announces she’s not running. This is really getting out of hand.
Don’t you people see the cult of the personality you’re creating?
Wow.
YOU certainly don't get out much...
...if you think that a little healthy speculation on "when, where and how" our next President is going to execute her masterful political strategy is creating a "cult of personality!"
Have you watched any SPORTS fans "supporting their favorite team" lately?

Or seen the way that REAL "rock stars" are treated?

Like MANY on this forum, you apparently misinterpret ENTHUSIASM and PASSION for something much more sinister.
PS - I you **REALLY** want to freak out, look up the dictionary definition of "enthusiasm."

I don’t attack personally here...and I don’t expect to be attacked for my honest assessment of the situation....fyi carter, despite all his failings as the president, was a graduate of the naval academy and worked for rickover, a demanding leader who was notorious for not suffering fools.

Look as mean and viscous as the msm is they sensed a real weakness in her resume and persona and had couric attack it with precision...and exposed her Achilles heel.

Got it.
You call HER stupid = good.

I call YOU stupid = bad.

What would I ever do without such "smart" people posting to me here!

PRECISELY!

Jimmy Carter, the worst President in the last century (until Obama) was allegedly "book smart."

I'll take the "street smart" political leaders -- like Reagan and Palin -- anytime!

should have stuck it out as governor no matter how tough it got.....no quitters...

Really? I'm an almost 60 year old white conservative voter, and I think her resignation was a sign of her good character. She did the right thing. You never quit anything? What's wrong with quitting when its absolutely the right thing to do?

The answer, of course, is yes, they should have quit. But the next question is, having quit, would you vote for any of them again?

But that confuses the issue. For Nixon, Weiner, and Wu, the reason they quit is identical to the reason you wouldn't vote for them again. They were forced out of office due to an intolerable character flaw, and that same flaw would prevent their reelection.

But for Palin, the reason she resigned is identical to the reason you would vote for her again. She had sworn an oath to the people of Alaska, to fulfill her duties to the best of her ability. The legal cage devised against her prevented her from fulfilling those duties as promised. The only way she could keep her promise was to escape that cage, and the only exit from that cage was to leave the office of Governor.

So yes, the reason she quit points to an admirable character and I would not hesitate to cast my vote for her or any politician like her, who takes their promises so seriously they would rather risk ruining their political career than break that promise. We need more Sarah Palins. Many more.

I want my presidents to be as smart or smarter than myself...she simply is not...

You appear to have a very high opinion of yourself, FRiend.

By what measure do you gage "smart"? How do you factor in common sense? How do you factor in experience? the stain is certainly loaded with education. In your eyes, is he "smarter" than you? How are you able to determine that anyone is less smart than you?

So following your logic then...after she is elected president she should then quit when the left comes after her hammer and tong? You know they will so what will make it the right thing! Being president is more right than being governor?

Answer: some yes, some no. It depends on the person, and the reasons for the "quitting". Each individual - IMHO - should be treated based on the merits (or lack thereof) of the situation....not be painted with the broad brush of derision in the attemt to prove and unprovable point.

If I may offer a too long bit of bumper sticker philosophy, but one in which I place great credence...

"Perseverance is the most overrated of traits, if it is unaccompanied by talent; beating your head against a wall is more likely to produce a concussion in the head than a hole in the wall."

Well in your case it would be the use of gage instead of gauge....

So following your logic then...after she is elected president she should then quit when the left comes after her hammer and tong?

Nice try, but that's not my logic you're using. She didn't resign because she had opponents coming after her. She's always had that, and has had it worse in the years following her resignation than she did before. Didn’t stop her from mounting a devastating campaign to get conservatives elected in 2010, and it utterly failed to silence her or drive her into obscurity, which was the stated objective of her opposition. So that's a non-sequitur.

Here's an analogy that I think is closer to my original logic. A field commander is pinned down under enemy fire. He has dozens of men, their futures, and the futures of their families back home, all relying on his command effectiveness. What does he do? Stand up and shout "charge the barricades?" I hope not. That would only lead to an unnecessary slaughter and unspeakable sorrow, and for no good reason.

My hope would be that he recognizes he needs to change the equation in some fundamental way so he can keep his men alive for a later, more effective attack. My hope would be that he invokes a strategic retreat, so he can regroup and solve the problem without loss of either life or advantage.

Palin didn’t resign over opposition. She went up against some of the toughest political opposition you can imagine. It was those d@m lawyers (I am one) that created her unsolvable problem. I’ve looked at the scenario she faced, and I haven’t yet either seen or had anyone else explain to me a way she could have resolved it without resigning.

Indeed, had she just “toughed it out,” today she would not only be financially ruined despite being morally compromised for leeching off the public trough as an unproductive figurehead, but she would also be rightfully chargeable as having violated her oath of office, for failing to step aside when she became unable to perform her duties to the best of her ability.

Again, I’m going to assume you are a reasonable person. If you are pinned down under enemy fire, with no way of escape other that strategic retreat, what would you honestly do, if it’s you and the people you care about that are at risk? Because you’ll never convince me a thoughtful person like yourself would willfully destroy those you led, those who trusted you to keep your word, just so you could have the pride to say, “I toughed it out.” You are not an idiot, and neither is Palin.

And if you think my analogy is inapplicable to the office of President, think again. Do you know why George Washington was able to face down the Western world’s then mightiest military power, with a rag-tag operation of farmers, tradesmen, and other ordinary people? Strategic retreat. President George Washington saved this country from British Tyranny by calculated use of strategic retreat, hitting when he could, running when he had to. Without it, his weak and tiny force would never have survived the first serious engagements, the American Revolution would have failed, and you and I would not even be having this conversation. If it’s good enough for him, it’s good enough for Palin.

Your serve.

SR
