I'm not excited about any of the other guys, but will vote for ANY one of them in order to keep Obama out of the White House for another four years; the country cannot afford it.
She hasn’t let you down, since she never promised to run for President, but many of us have come to the conclusion that she is not running for President in 2012.
If she jumps in at this late date, she would fall short.
The debate had a lot of strong candidates with good points to make. If you want a conservative governor, a Tea Party leading female, or an outsider ready to shake things up ... there’s a candidate in the race for you.
Relax, Ohio, Reagan got in in November.
In terms of her running/not running for President, to be fair, she never promised anything.
As far as I know she is keeping her options open. That is an ok thing to do.
I think perhaps you are disappointed because you really EXPECTED her to do this and that, hoped for it, but to be fair to her I don’t think she promised anything.
People post on FR like they know what she’s going to do. But it’s pure opinion. It may be educated or intelligent opinion, but it’s still opinion. She doesn’t have to fulfill anyone else’s strongly held opinions.
If you read my posts on FR you will find I have never been a Palin booster, but I am not a detractor, either, and am just waiting to see if she wants it or not before I decide who to support. I am not convinced she wants it right now.
I think she is a great American and a tremendous asset to the conservative cause, no matter what she does.
I figured out today, what I believe is Palin’s strategy.
First recall - from the very day. THE DAY, she accepted McCain’s offer to be his running mate, Palin has been the most slimed, most mud-slung, most demonized, most put through the wringer politician since Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Newt was imho the first actual test case of Saul Alinsky’s tactics. Unfortunately the lesson the left took away from that, was it works. It in fact was also the lesson too many on our side internalized.
Sure, use it on the left - but not on each other.
What I (and most here, I would have to believe) have noticed is, the GOP primary went negative almost immediately. First the dumb dork Rollins who Bachmann hired, his first week on the job, set the foundation by going after Palin. Stoopid move on his part.
It could have stopped there. However let’s be honest, we’ve all seen how Mitt Romney’s people operate. The “concern” trolls. You think the fact Romney trolls all were the same, is a coincidence?? (not a chance).
So, Palin approaches the primary aware that Mitt will release his carefully coifed trolls against her.
Meanwhile Perry saddles up to the bar.
That could have changed the dynamic. Still might, but frankly there’s been a lot of similarity in tactics, between the Rick-rollers, and the Mitt trolls. Both feign concern, both case doubt. It’s not the vile ugliness of the left, doing the same thing - but it’s still negative campaigning.
Palin’s been there. She knows. I think what she recognized immediately was she would face TWO candidates, both of which would unleash an Alinsky-light barrage against her. She could see.
And, what she is doing, is brilliant.
She stepped back. The two armies were arrayed to attack. Primed and ready. With nobody to attack. At that moment, the two armies realized, each was the other’s biggest threat.
Now, they begin attacking each other.
Palin does not attack, when she criticizes it is very issue specific - such as on Greta’s show this evening, against Crony Capitalism - an issue which could win even the general election.
If Mitt and Perry want to go at each other, let ‘em box.
Palin doesn’t have to, and she just might be better at it, than either of those two.
She knows what she’s doing.
Don’t get discouraged.
I am waiting for Sarah to declare before I support any candidate. I am GLAD she has not declared, to be honest! The constant campaigning that begins as soon as one cycle is over is insufferable! We were all complaining about that not TOO long ago, if I remember correctly, so let’s all take a deep breath and sit back. Besides, I am sure that there is plenty of time, according to the earliest primary, she still has a couple months left. Actually, if she does declare, I think it will give her a tactical advantage. When everybody else has made all their blunders and we are sick to death of the debates, she’ll come in as a breath of fresh air. It’s not as if we don’t know her positions and experience.

Maybe she’s doing exactly what it appears she’s doing. She’s not running for President, and she wants to make as much money as she can while her “brand” is hot.
Maybe.
Maybe not.
I think even if Palin decides to enter like Reagan, late, she doesn’t have the wind at her back. She’ll be bumped out in the primaries, and that will be that.
Other than here on FR, you do not hear about Patin much at all. Whether the media discovered this chink in her armor intentionally or not, it has permanently stymied her ability to achieve the billing she could have gotten even two months ago.
I think her ship has sailed, and she hasn’t even gotten to the ticket counter yet.
I think we are looking at a Perry presidency in 12.
She already said they all got in to early. She was never getting in early, it is a waste of money.
Yeah. Not so much.
I think she's waiting to see if there's a need for her in this race. It's hard to look at that crowded stage and see where she fits in.
I think she's needed more in electing House & Senate candidates in 2012. No matter who is in the White House, without taking Congress, we're stuck with ObamaCare and Dodd-Frank and all manner of bad legislation passed under Obama-Pelosi-Reid.
She's skipped five debates and DeMint's candidate forum to which she was invited. It's hard to look at that and not think she'd at best be a reluctant candidate.
Bachmann's campaign seems to be flying apart which could give Palin an opening.
So I've been looking elsewhere for a backup and will decide based on declared candidates. If she 'decides' the time is right, I'll decide then if I haven't already made the choice, but I don't think she will. She either stands or falls on her own merit and the determination of her support. Waiting won't improve her chances. Chances are for suckers - beliefs are, and beliefs needn't wait.
