The answer is only one Marathon Oil.
As I watched the 10th Anniversary of 911 on the various cable channels, especially on FOX and the History Channel, a thought occurred to me how many US based oil companies remembered 911 on their homepages today?
I suppose, one can argue that as a business, even if US based, it would not be appropriate. But thinking about it, why not? I mean, thanks to the freedoms of this nation and the citizens of the United States, these corporations and companies benefit from the blessing the American people have fought and died for, and yes so many of these US based Oil companies would think of themselves as global and not US . In fact, do they even think of America at all?
I was wondering if they do. And I was thinking, since Oil has a major vesture in the Middle East and areas of the world from which the enemies of America (and for that matter, the enemies of these same Oil companies), that they would at least show a little interest in the meaning of 911, or at least remember that day or perhaps just mention it.
But you know what? There was only one. And I want to thank Marathon Oil for doing so. Below were the results of my finding. I am very tempted to ask each one of these others, why? Why did the not do so? Please explain. And if purposeful, then why so? What was more important to them, then to remember, or at least just mention? Why? Tell me.
US base Oil Companies that DID Remember:

I would argue that these aren’t news sites or other sites that have dynamic content- they are generally static corporate sites. People don’t go to these sites for daily news or information. I bet you would have similar results with almost all US corporations that don’t offer dynamic content as a service.
we have us oil companies? how come they don’t drill domestic oil?
“In fact, do they even think of America at all?”
Huh? Is there a point in here?
Bullies love tragedy. They love shoving it in folks faces, and take the “side” of the “victim” to do so. It’s a potent way to bully.
When Mr. Baldwin expresses provoked umbrage at this of that enterprise or group because they haven’t bowed down before the idol he makes of 9/11, that FreeReign, is the “force of the mob” to which I referred on the other thread.
Those families are exploited by bullies, bullies who KNOW and EXPLOIT natural human weakness in regards tragedy.
The lack of a remembrance on their home page today says nothing about the people who run the company but making an issue of it says a lot about the author of this absurd little bit of illogical grasping at divisive straws.
Noticed Google and YouTube didn’t have any custom artwork like they do for other useless “causes” and holidays.
Yes, let’s turn 9/11 into a d#ck waving contest of who can be the most patriotic. What could possibly go wrong?
Did you check ALL the U.S. companies? Why single out oil companies?
Marathon is self insured for employee health benefits. In 1973 on the day they hired me as a mechanic, they knowingly assumed a $30,000.00 obligation for our oldest daughter's upcoming surgery.
I only have a eighth grade formal education, but Marathon saw potential in me. They paid for extensive schooling and training, whereas I was able to advance into a well paying salaried management position.
But at least oil drilling is now starting off the Florida Keys, unfortunately it is Cuba doing the drilling.
Time was when someone on FreeRepublic would have pointed out something like this, most Freepers would have said something supportive.
What’s with the sarcasm?
Anything that should be taken with a modicum of seriousness is now taken as an opportunity to make jokes.
