9/11: Stories of Courage, Heroism and Generosity

We are pleased to announce 9/11: Stories of Courage, Heroism and Generosity with an introduction from Tim Zagat, Co-founder and CEO of Zagat Survey, along with contributions from former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former New York Governor George Pataki.

Upon reflection of the 9/11 attacks, the random acts of kindness displayed by selfless individuals are too often overlooked. As the 10-year anniversary of this fateful day approaches, Zagat honors these heroes for their contributions to rebuilding and uniting a country in the wake of destruction.

So, I just received the following email in my inbox from Zagat, the restaurant reviewers. Turns out they have poor tastes.

Poor taste, indeed.

They created a product that they thought people might be interested in having. They might be right or wrong in that assessment. They may or may not make a profit. Have little idea exactly what the product is and really don’t have any interest in it. Have no judgement as to what these people have done.

Since Zagat was just bought out by Google, they’re trying to show that they’re in tune with their new bosses.

It seems, although no links were posted or sources were quoted, that Mr. Tim Zagat, who happens to be the CEO of the company his family founded, compiled a book reflecting the good in humans on, and after, 9/11. He was able to get some very heavyweight public figures to contribute to his book, and is now offering that book for sale.

Here is the description:
Book Description Publication Date: September 6, 2011 Though it is far easier to remember the horrific attacks on September 11, 2001 as a confirmation that evil exists in the world, 9/11: Stories of Courage, Heroism and Generosity challenges us to look for the intrinsic good in people, especially in the difficult moments surrounding a crisis. This book helps to change our expectations of humanity, reminding us that if you look for the good in people, you won t need to search very long at all.

As the 10 year anniversary of that terrible day approaches, we feel it necessary to acknowledge and salute the overwhelming demonstrations of goodness among ordinary citizens. We are proud to publish the book 9/11: Stories of Courage, Heroism and Generosity. With contributions from former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former New York Governor George Pataki, 9/11: Stories of Courage, Heroism and Generosity is a compilation of the random acts of kindness, too often overlooked in times of crisis. With an introduction from our own Zagat CEO Tim Zagat, this touching tribute will inspire readers to remember the good residing in all of us.

Thanks for posting this, I think I'd like to buy and read it, sounds like a very good read.

Sorry, I don’t have a problem with it. People can buy it or not. I guess, in that case, no books should be written about 9/11.
