'A social pariah'

She was the White House intern who found fame for all the wrong reasons.

Now, 17 years later, Monica Lewinsky is still trying to play down her scandalous affair with then-President Bill Clinton.

She is single, her line of handbags failed to catch on and, according to the National Enquirer, is living the life of a near recluse.

Monica, 38, flits between homes in Los Angeles owned by her mother, her father and brother and an apartment in New York that is also owned by the Lewinsky family.

But her life is far from a social whirl of a-list parties and she is said to spend much of her time alone.

An insider told The Enquirer that Monica has given up her own place and moves between the two coasts trying to work out projects that may never get off the ground.

Her apparent goal...

re: Jay Sekulow, heard of him, don’t know much about him, he’s a radio commentator and columnist? I think I’ve seen a couple of good columns by him that were emailed to me.

You have no idea how many congressmen had affairs with their staffs and got away with it (PS I used to work for a congressman).

It was both a “power” thing and often an “alcohol” thing.

For a few, it was a homosexual thing.

My wife once worked in the White House, many moons ago. She heard stories about liaisons that would fill books.

That is the way is often is in the halls and bedrooms of power.

Perhaps we can cut the younger partners some slack. They paid a hard price for their youthfulness and indiscretions, love involved or not, while the dominant perp walked scot free.

yes I know, but I think that post-Holocaust it is considered a lot more sensitive and controversial to call for Jews to convert.... I know there are conversions but I do not think the answer to one individual’s personal crisis should normally be to call upon them to convert to a religion they do not recognize as their own. She and much of her family seemed to be rather distant from the moral content of Judaism but she could find a lot of spiritual resources for moral self-improvement and spiritual solace within her own faith if it still means anything to her.

Sekulow is quite an accomplished man. He is an attorney and he heads up the ACLJ (given that name to combat the ACLU).

He has argued before the Supreme Court numerous times on Pro-life issues, prayer, etc.

Check out ACLJ.ORG. Also, wikepedia has alot of information on him although I didn’t see any reference to his Jewish heritiage.

The point being though, that, although Jewish people are mostly strident in their rejection of Christ, there are many, through the grace of God, that have accepted Christ.

Accepting Christ is not a religion. It is an actual relationship with the Creator of the universe; it is acknowledgment that we, as mere sinful beings, understand that we are imperfect and we are sinners (ALL of us) but that we accept that Christ died on the Cross for those sins (great and small). No organized religion can lay claim to that. It is an actual relationship. It is supernatural in its form and it is the only way our sins, our past can be washed cleaned.

There is no way to explain the peace that washes over an individual, once Christ has been accepted.

That is what Ms Lewinski needs (as we all do) to feel peace and joy again. To know that Christ loves her and died for her.

Again, I do not mean to be preachy but this truly is the only way to peace on this earth.

Mark Levin quote:

01-19-99
Mark Levin - Landmark Legal Foundation

Clinton is in trouble now because he tried to fix the outcome of a courtcase — the Paula Jones case. That case was ordered to go forward by the U.S. Supreme Court (9-0). He lost. So what did he do?

In front of a federal judge, Susan Webber Wright, he tried to “fix” his case. He assured that false testimony would be given by Monica Lewinsky, via her false affidavit. He lied to the grand jury later. They conspired to hide evidence. These are very, very serious offenses.

And I might add one other thing that nobody has focused on — what Clinton has done to Lewinsky. He conspired with her to commit perjury.

The President of the United States, the man who swore an oath to faithfully execute the law, took this young woman and turned her into a criminal. He put her in criminal harm’s way. He didn’t care if she went to Leavenworth for 25 years.

Lewinsky never had any motive to lie. She told 11 people she was having sex with the President, according to the Starr Report. She believed after he left office the President was going to leave Hillary and run off with her. She would have been happy to go to the top of a mountain and yell at the top of her lungs that she was having an affair with Bill Clinton.

She had no motive to lie, except to protect him. If you think about how he used this intern, it is contemptible.

Democrats hate her because they think she was responsible for Clinton's Impeachment because she kept the infamous Blue Dress. The fact that Clinton is a lying POS with no character who let an impressionable young woman take the fall for his narcissism and juvenile behavior tells the real story.

If she hadn't kept that dress, she would forever be the lying skank that tried to bring down their hero Bill Clinton. If you ask a Liberal, she wasn't the victim in this, Clinton was.

Funny how she is being treated for doing the same thing many women do. For goodness sakes, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian are on Video doing what Monica did, and nobody is treating them like Pariahs. They are the type of people young women seek to emulate. What a world.

As for me, I feel pity for Ms. Lewinski. She was treated no better than a used Kleenex.

Agree with you completely. As it was and has been for me since October 24, 1985. I cannot even imagine living this life without Him. I don’t know how people get by...without Him.

If you look at the photo that goes along with the story, you’ll see that she has grown into quite a beautiful woman. There is no reason that she can’t overcome this scandal - I think.

First, she needs to learn that Clinton did NOT love her and accept that. And, I believe, there are plenty of decent men out there who will love her despite her past.

Donna Rice remade her life and so can Monica Lewinsky.

But Clinton and his beast wife should rot in hell for what they did to all of Clinton’s women.

Her family was a disgrace during this period in history. I had no idea she had family in Israel. I wonder if she has ever thought of living there? She tried London; but sometimes Americans don’t adapt well to England. I lived there for a year and loved it but in the end, I had to come back to the USA.

There is no doubt that much of Monica’s problems stem from her upbringing, or lack thereof. When things got ugly her father needed to stand up and defend his daughter, but he declined. From there, there was no recovery. Once daddy let his daughter twist in the wind, her life was ruined.

Is that certain? That her father refused (I didn’t follow the circus as by that time I was shutting the tv or radio off everytime I heard that horndog’s name or anything affiliated with that case)to stand up for her? I mean is there an actual statement? That is so low...that’s the equivalent to abandonment. What a despicable man.

Well there is a reason there are so many screw-ups in 2011 (because people feel sympathy for them).

from wikipedia “In a 1998 CNN interview he described Monica’s defense attorney William H. Ginsburg as a “close friend”, and spoke out against government and media scrutiny of his daughter.”

He did not directly confront Bubba in the media and question the propriety of Bubba’s actions with his daughter and the subsequent nuts and sluts smear job. He merely lashes out at Ken Starr.

That is a long way from a proclamation that Clinton mistreated his daughter, and was despicable, etc. etc.
