SAN DIEGO (AP) -- San Diego police say a boy throwing rocks at vehicles was struck in the abdomen by a crossbow bolt fired by a passenger in small sport utility vehicle.
Officer Dino Delimitros says the boy and a friend were throwing rocks in the Linda Vista neighborhood Monday afternoon when a passenger in a black Toyota RAV4 pulled out a crossbow and fired.

Did the crossbow guy only have one bolt?

The title sounds like a boy was throwing rocks that had been hit by a crossbow. Reading it, I realized the boy had himself been struck by a crossbow after he threw rocks at cars.

If someone had pulled over and spanked this little brat they person who did so would no doubt be arrested and sent to jail.
So instead of a spanking because of litigious governments and lawyers the kid instead gets a dose of anonymous drive by punishment.
