Too bad I gave all my beer making supplies away when I moved.
That would have been the first thing I packed and moved.

I was moving out of a remote site in Alaska.
I built two 6x3x3 foot coffins for my model airplanes and that was enough expense. Everything else had to be mailed out. I had four 5 gallon glass carboys, 2 kegs, over a hundred bottles plus all the supplies.
I just didn’t want to take the time and expense to mail them out. Besides, I have NO room to store all that stuff. I have cut way back on beer drinking anyway so I guess I don’t miss it much. (he lied)

I am going to have to buy some more bottles, for sure! As soon as this first batch is bottled and aging I am going to start an Irish Stout and then a Lager after that. All will be bottled and in different stages of aging. A continuous flow for consumption is the goal.

We got our son a beer-making kit for his birthday. I think it was called “Mr Beer” or something like that. He loves it! He’s made several different kinds. I think he’s making the Irish Stout right now.

It is still Aug 23 at the main site. I wonder how often they update it. I thought it was every Tuesday morning.

I seriously cannot wait till you post how the beer tastes! (a blonde beer? Hmmm?) Good luck with this and I have the feeling that it will be absolutely marvelous!
To: GatorGirl
I’ve been wanting to do that too. I don’t know where to get the ‘mother’ though.

I would like to try the Jacob’s Cattle beans. Are they string beans or do you dry them?

Looking good.
One year, on the weekend, my hubby made beer , watermelon wine and sauerkraut. On Monday when the children I cared for came the parents noticed the "aroma" in the house....nearly knocked them out when the door opened. LOL

I cook up 15 or so pounds of pork ribs in my Mirro pressure cooker (if you want the recipe, let me know.) and I have home made beer so cold it hurts the back of your throat. We enjoy this with home made sauerkraut, homemade coleslaw and homemade potato salad. I prepare enough food for four adults. All told its about $2.50 per adult for the entire meal including the beer. If I grew the potatos and cabbage, it would be a LOT cheaper. LOL
Right now, I am fermenting a batch of Cooper's Corona clone. I've made this type of beer before and a few bottles of it are unbelievably good when I cook pork ribs.
You're going to really enjoy that beer.

Sooooo...when can we look forward to a weekly 'beer brewing' thread?
Shame my salsa and your beer are a thousand miles apart... :-(

Thanks! You do know you can’t say you have a recipe - on this thread - and not post it!
