Did anybody feel that one, especially if you're in Maryland or Virginia?
5.8? Out here in central MD it didn’t feel worse than those series we had back c.1990 and those were at best 3.5.
Of course, they were centered just 5 mi from here.
Listening to the Indians game...and they felt it in the booth.
Someone said the Pentagon is being evacuated??
South Shore Long Island ... the room vibrated for 2 minutes... I am guessing a Richter Scale 3.
I’m in middle of West Virginia, felt it.
Im up around Cleveland and we felt it
CA welcomes you to the club Easterners. Shake, rattle, and roll.
I thought it was the dog scratching and shaking the table, but she wasn’t under the table -— yes I felt it. Eastern Shore, VA
I’m in Pittsburgh, felt it - the house shook a bit. No damage I can see.
I read that on Yahoo.
Never been through one before. Pretty scary.
Nevermind the epicenter, does anybody have the know-how to put areas affected on a map to see how wide-spread this was?
Yeah, it scared me pretty good too because I realized what it was.
I walked outside right after and dogs were barking near and far. They knew something weird was happening.
Felt the quake in North Central CT. I was taking a break from mowing the lawn. Sitting in my garage, I felt it and heard the house creak and saw my daughters old Wonder Horse on springs moving side to side.
I felt it in Northeast Philadelphia on the second floor of a fieldstone house. The house is built like a fortress, so I never expected anything to shake it, but I saw things moving & heard the rumble, two rumbles, actually, just lasting a few seconds, but enough to scare me out of the room. It restarted my “perpetual motion” machine, which had been dormant for months. Fifteen minutes later, it’s still going.
Congrats, TSR, 1st to report on FR!
Same here, I was in the top of the house and felt it enough to make me leave the room. People working downstairs (heavy tools) didn’t feel it.
We felt it in Annapolis
Kids and I were in the library when the building started to vibrate, when it kept going I knew it wasn’t a truck- then the ceiling started to vibrate and we got the heck out of dodge- lasted maybe 45 seconds to a minute
The streets were lined with people all saying “An earthquake in MARYLAND????”
I’m in a 300 year old log house and the logs dampen *everything* and I felt it something fierce.
At first I thought my Dobermann was having a massive seizure or something because the sofa was “trembling” violently.
At the same time I put my hand over to feel his side, he jumped up and looked me in the face like he thought *I* was doing it.
The sun-catcher lead crystal prism ball thingy in the window was swinging like mad.
That was...interesting.
Now that I’ve felt an earthquake, I hope I never feel one again.
Here, it was a continuous rocking/rolling “wave” feeling.
