Looks like from all the models that most of the East Coast will be under the gun in a few days from Hurricane Irene, so now is the time to start stocking up on water, ammo, canned food, toilet paper, gas and even an emergency generator. I live outside of Washington D.C. and remember the last time that T.S. Isabel hit, it took over 2 weeks to get the power back on and the panic that that caused. I also went down to New Orleans after Katrina and saw that first hand, so don't wait start stocking up now.
Wonder how many hotel reservations along Carolina beaches are being cancelled right now? They don’t need this just as summer is winding down...
From the Eaastern Shore of Virginia.....................................We’re all going to die! LOL just kinding
Buying a Heavy duty generator for my home right now as I am a dialysis patient, who does treatment at home. Yes gas and water are impossible to find after these thing pass. I tell my friends to head to the dollar stores as you can find great deals on some foods and bottle water.
LOL, just don’t depend on Obama to come in with a plan following anything on the East Coast, surfs up on the Bay.
Hey, True, did we meet up at GOE I ? Or perhaps I saw you interviewed on TV for GOE or Tea Party stuff.
Like you I go to the beaches after Labor Day, but not next weekend and the models have the outbanks under the gun right now and then coming up the Chesapeake.
Yeah. The speed is what concerns me now. “
If she sits out there gaining strength it could be a beast.
“Irene is moving toward the west-northwest near 13 mph, and this motion, with a small decrease in forward speed is expected tonight and Tuesday.”
Yep and still out there talking about the important issues.
According to NOAA, there shouldn’t be a problem “just outside of DC” except for rain and the inevitable flash flooding in low lying areas.
Still, I hate to stop a good old fashioned DC weather panic!!!
You gonna shoot the hurricane?
Nah, just the looters I know that would follow as the D.C. Area is so Progressive and my generator would be gone by the second night!
C’mon down to Texas... its only 103 degrees at my house!
Thanks, we can use all the prayers we can get! I have never seen Houston this dry, ever. You kind of expect it in West Texas, but not here.
Hey look at it this way, it would be two more days that D.C. could not spend our money. D.C. Weather Panics are a good thing.
Good deal.
I look at a generator as something I hope I will never need again, but I've had to use it 3 times since purchase 7 years ago.
Most of my neighbors have one now.
Take care of yourself.
Weather has always been a hobby of mine and it seem all the factors are in place for a direct strike in the Outerbanks. There are are strong Highes over Texas and East of Bermuda, with the jet stream over Canada and weak Lows that just can’t push this thing out to sea. It is like a car coming down an alley right now.
No way, I love Texas, but I will take my D.C. Weather of just 80 today.
:(Say it ain’t so.
