Looks like from all the models that most of the East Coast will be under the gun in a few days from Hurricane Irene, so now is the time to start stocking up on water, ammo, canned food, toilet paper, gas and even an emergency generator. I live outside of Washington D.C. and remember the last time that T.S. Isabel hit, it took over 2 weeks to get the power back on and the panic that that caused. I also went down to New Orleans after Katrina and saw that first hand, so don't wait start stocking up now.
just another day in NYC, bud.
I’ll take a hurricane over a tornado anyday.
I wish we could get the rain you all don’t need.... Texas is parched! Stay safe!
I thought the latest prediction was that it may hit the Carolinas Fri into Sat.? Haven’t heard anything about further north of that.
Could be a lot of overtime coming for me at the end of the week. Stocked up on gas, food, and water today.
The latest models have it holding together as far as Philly coming right up I-95 up to New York and God forbid it comes over the Chesapeake Bay as the water is very warm right now.
Im in Miami right now and it is great. Feels like the low to mid 80s and nice gust from the Southeast. We will probably see rain Tuesday but nothing big until Thursday.
It seems to traveling slowly and that could be a concern.
Enjoy.

We haven’t been shopping in more than two weeks. Oy.
Thanks for the heads up. I’m in S.E. GA. I keep the TV off and rely on the Net for news. Your advice is very timely .
Sat morning north of Charleston and tracking up I-95 was the last I heard. She’s supposed to be at my house in NC Sat afternoon or evening. I’m going to the store tonight to get a few things just in case.
I have been praying that you guys get a strong T.S. or weak Hurricane down there. I am predicting that you will by September as the heat dome over Texas should start to retreat, just hold on the rain is a coming.
Oh, I hadn’t heard that. Thanks.
I think the comparison is with the land storm track of Isabel. Isabel came ashore in the Outer Banks,,but then proceeded northward across North Carolina and Virginia west of the DC area. There was massive destruction and flooding and quite a few fatalities in Virginia.
Don't forget to get at very least 4 five gallon cans for gasoline.
They are impossible to find after a hurricane.
Slowing makes this thing even stronger and I have seen the power of these things when I was in the NAVY, Hurricanes are living storms and seek out warm water to stay alive. I am predicting it could reach Cat 4 status if it makes landfall at NC/SC border as that would have kept in the Gulf Steam for more than 3 days.
True that and been through one, lets just say I am glad I had clean underwear afterwards.
With SST's in the 90's for most of the gulf, I am afraid that may not happen.
Hope yer right ..... Assigned to Indianhead NAS at EOD school off an on during my career an loved that area an the steamed blue crab out on highway 210 .....
Hope your lawns an gardens are wet down properly an mother nature is easy on ya.
Good Luck Sir....stay safe.
