But that would mean you couldn’t post something that Perry did as Governor in 2004, if he made some statement in the past week that was different than what happened in 2004. And while I do agree we should give more weight to more recent comments, I don’t think we should ignore previous ones, especially if the candidate doesn’t explicitly denounce their previous comments.
As trolls well know, and misrepresent or confuse on purpose.
Cheers!
I don’t believe all immigrants, legal or/and illegal come to the USA for the reasons Palin gives. It is naive thinking that there are no criminals and free loaders in the illegal bunch, let alone that in these days there are probably some who would sabotage the USA. There needs to be a process to weed out the good from the bad i.e. those who do not want to live by our Foundation and prefer La Raza. Get the bad with all family out of the USA, it will be less costly in many ways. Mexico should be charged a fee for any time bad immigrants spend in the USA.

"Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven."
But he's the King of Kings, not a mere candidate.
In the meantime, the one who wins AND implements the conservative agenda.
Palin definitely has the 2nd part nailed. Need to make sure she handles the first.
Cheers!
Oh my.... I've gone and offended you by re-posting the insulting vitriol you posted to me last night, verbatim. How unfair of me.
I'd take it back, but FR doesn't have an 'edit post' button. So sorry.
Thank you, Oynx. I will!
Great post onyx!
Jeff, I didn’t know you were back (because I am very unobservant), good to see you.
I think that interview is somewhat ambiguous, partly because O’Reilly is a bloviating idiot who doesn’t know how to actually get answers from candidates.
But reading that interview, I would say it is likely that Palin does support allowing at least some illegal immigrants to stay in the country if they register with the government, and she “expects them to work” which means she is likely for giving them green cards so they can legally work.
I also think she is saying they shouldn’t get special treatment toward citizenship, but should have to go to the back of the line and wait their turn. But maybe they get to wait IN country.
So I don’t see that as specifically denouncing her previous comment that you wouldn’t throw out all 13 million illegals.
I could be wrong; but this is the interpretation is out there, and I would imagine Sarah could easily clarify if she felt necessary, using twitter and facebook, or in an interview. She is an excellent speaker and can express her views clearly on the subject, when she wants.
Unlike some here, I don’t believe an absolute position on illegal immigration works, so I guess I find it easier to accept this opinion of what Palin said, because I would support her 100% on that viewpoint. I wouldn’t mind if she was harder on illegals than I would be either, but I would be happy if her view matches my current opinion on her view.
retread troll zot
OK, that made me laugh, although I think that’s not a fair attack. I think Palin did us all a favor with that show; When Kate started disowning her kids, I think that ended her 15 minutes of ill-gotten fame.
Sure, but for what? As a Tea Party power broker, whipping the GOP into shape by raising a new generation of freshmen Congressmen? Damn right. As far as long term power projection, this is sowing the fields for good harvests later. Reclaiming the GOP at the basic level is the most important long term strategy around. She's doing it with folks that have much better ideological leanings than their predecessors.
As far as running for President, no. Her negatives are too high, and a lot of that comes from within the GOP itself. If she takes a shot at the Presidency here, gets nominated and fails, her career will be obliterated. If she helps the next guy or gal into office, and keeps raising crops of conservative senators and congressmen, she'll become the new GOP establishment. Literally the fulcrum of the Tea Party within the GOP machine. The more I look at it, the less sense it makes for her to run.
Especially now. Bachmann is surging, and Perry is in. The odds of Romney being the nominee are pretty much flatlined. The demand for a Palin candidacy is largely met with either of these two. (Amongst the population outside of FR). Anyway, if she actually jumps in, I reserve the right to admit I was wrong. At this point, I'm not seeing it. I think she's found her groove right where she is.
Yes, Degrade.....it is I.
I couldn't help but notice that you're still "the smartest person in the room." I admire that in a tro..., er, I mean, Guru.
Obviously DRey's candidate has to be perfect or DRey would be no better than us Palin folk.
I take it back Windflier, I want a GALLON of that cologne. I want some of that attention too ;)
Is it me or was your little buddy mouthing a versin of “Don’t you know who I am?”
God these trolls crack me up ;)
THat last line came out more harshly than I meant it to, and I apologize. I tend to take Sarah Palin at her word, and literally, and I think your statement is contradictory to what she is quoted as saying this week.
Denial ain’t a river in Egypt.
Agree. Palin’s answers from August 2008 - November 2008 should be seen as McCain’s policies that it was her job to repeat. It wasn’t her job to distinguish her policies from McCain’s, but to adopt McCain’s policies.
Ya think that would be self evident, but unfortunately not when PDS enters the picture. If that’s the best they got, we’re gonna be fine ;)
She’s compromised and said it once before...which means she’ll do it again if she decides she has to...
...which is exactly what happens to too many people who go to DC.
=8-)
