Greg Myerson knew what he had

I know it's because the fish is way out in front of the guy to make it look bigger. But, it's more the way an 82 pound fish should droop more between his hands.
Maybe it's just me...
Glad he has all that time between Union jobs to fish...
Betting he has unemployment check stubs in his billfold...
Well, he has his hands placed close enough to support it better. That’s a big bass!
I too believe the story, but it isn't easy to hold 82 lbs with two hands out in front like that.
Connecticut paper. Caught in Long Island Sound. People here get fussy without geo-context ;-)
Union thugs were protesting construction at the local mall yesterday...they had on red shirts with their local printed on it....as I drove by...one yelled ‘honk if you support us’...I yelled out...” Red Shirts....what an appropriate color”
We have stripers here at Lake of the Ozarks but nothing this big...
Yeah, that's me. I make sure I do it with news but with a story like this... Oh, heck. I forgot. Sorry.
Caught not far from me in Westbrook, CT. The guys lives in Branford which is about a half hour away.
“But, it’s more the way an 82 pound fish should droop more between his hands..”
Maybe it’s the 40 pounds of sinkers in it’s tummy? Just askin.
It’s the camera angle.
Either his son took the pic looking up, or he took the pic himself with the camera on timer sitting on a chair angled up.
My nephew fishes the lower Chesapeake where he routinely catches stripers in the 50 - 60 lb class. What a thrill.
Just got back from a wonderful week at a resort on road EE where we used to go when our kids were little. Our son caught a 26 inch cat fish and his cousin a 27 inch buffalo head. We saw a huge paddlefish that had been hit by a motor boat and was dying. Sad.
Fishing for stripers on Lake Texoma was one of the greatest thrills of my life, they are lean mean eatin’ machines. When they would heard a school of schad to the surface it was amazing to watch ...
He must be really strong to hold an 82Lb fish out away from his body like that
Really, for some reason that doesn’t look that heavy.
“Really, for some reason that doesnt look that heavy.”
No, it doesn’t. The fingers on his right hand look too relaxed and they’re not sinking into the fish at all.
Measure a finger width. Give his right hand a width of about 5 inches from forefinger to pinkie. That would make the overall length of the fish about 45 inches. Also, my brother is a professional saltwater fishing guide so I’ve seen a lot of big fish. This doesn’t look like an 81 pound fish. This could be a photo of the guy with another fish.
Big Rock Candy Mountain bump
True, but I should have suspected because I've heard of the Hartford Courant, but I didn't.
I even checked the keywords.
It may be the lens that was used, too. It looks to me like his elbows are very close to his body to help support the weight of the fish. What would be the point in faking this photo anyway?
