Okay, call me shallow but I just couldn't concentrate on Sean Hannity's interview with Sarah Palin. Why? Because those food stands with the big signs in the background of the interview at the Iowa State Fair made me HUNGRY. Fair fare. Maybe it is deep fried unhealthy but it tastes soooo gooood!
Now desperate for some elephant ears.

Yes! Yes! And Yes!
Deep-fried butter...mmmm-mm! Wonder if they have any of those Krispy Kreme bacon cheeseburgers?
I do too!
I just commmented on the “Palin sends corndogs to the press” thread that I made corndogs for my boys tonight!
There’s something about that food that is just sooooo wonderful!
Don’t know about you, but I could smell the pork chops!
My wife invented something that is even BETTER than elephant ears. Fried. I call it “corn floppies.” I would love to market it at one of those fairs up north.
YES YES, I am hungry for a corn dog now. I haven’t had a corn dog in WOW, I can’t even remember when LOL..I live in LA so gotta get the store bought corn dogs but still better then nothing
I was at a fair where they fried up Ostrich meat. Tasted EXACTLY like beef!
From my strategic location I can be on the midway of the Indiana, Ohio or Kentucky State Fairs in about 100 minutes.
Coincidence?
I don’t think so.
I would love to test market my wife’s corn floppies in Iowa or one of the other state fairs.
Right now I would like nothing better than deep fried liberal livers on a stick, or sugar coated Obama Ears, or Deep Fried Left Turkey Legs, or Reid Cakes, .... Not necessarily for consumption, however.
Fried turkey legs takes skill to do correctly. They can taste lame or, in the right hands, be absolutely terrific. I’ve been told that the BEST fried turkey legs at the monthly big flea market in Canton, TX have the best fried turkey legs.
I am built like a six foot slab and I love to eat...but honestly all the stuff on a stick and deep fried whatever just didn’t push my buttons. Some of the best fair food I’ve had was “elephant ribs” whole beef ribs barbecued gum tender, foot long sausage dogs, except the sausage was stuffed with lobster and bits of bacon, if you’ve ever been to a rendevous or a powwow fresh sugared fry bread satisfies any donut lovers dreams, if you’re in Pennsylvania Amish country the pies have to be seen to be believed...pies so huge and thick it looks like Pharaohs built them. Stopping now before I start chewing on my cellphone...
***Anybody else get hunger pangs from watching that interview?***
Watching it did cause one of my heart stents to clog up. ;-)
Don’t visit Canton Trade Days in August or September. Trust me.
