THE ESTABLISHMENT HACKS VS AMERICA
VANITY | 8-11-11 | SUSSA

Posted on 08/11/2011 12:36:18 PM PDT by SUSSA

There is a political game being played right now. That gme is played every four years. It is a well oiled, time tested, tactic used by the establishment to screw conservatives. The establishment hacks that we used to call Rockefeller Republicans, tell us their guy is the most conservative person who can win the general election.

They said Reagan couldn’t win in ‘76 and that Ford was a conservative who could win. We got Carter.

In ‘80 they said Reagan was too conservative to win. We didn’t listen and got two landslide victories even though the establishment worked behind the scenes to undermine him as much as they could. Some of you may be old enough to remember the conservative pundits’ cry of “Let Reagan be Reagan.”

They told us Bush the Elder was as conservative as we could hope to elect. He won once but then we got Clinton.

Then they said Dole was as conservative as we could hope for. Dole got creamed by Clinton.

Then they told us Bush the Younger was a conservative and we got two razor thin wins against two true back bench Bozos, one of whom is so dumb he flunked out of Bible college..

Next they told us McCain is conservative and we got Obama.

Now they are telling us Bachmann and Palin are too conservative to win and that Romney and Perry are as conservative as we can get and still win.

Why the hell does anyone listen to this same crap after all these years? I really do not understand why anyone believes this tired old song and dance.

Going to the candidates debate.
Laugh about it, shout about it.
When you’ve got to choose.
Ev’ry way you look at it, you lose.

” Some of you may be old enough to remember the conservative pundits’ cry of “Let Reagan be Reagan.”

Remeber it I do!

I was just becoming politically aware, and I remember how he “took off” when he did.

I remember going to my first ever political rally downtown in Cleveland Ohio. He had a heck of a crowd, and in this Democrat stronghold too.

I remember there were a few hecklers with signs, something about military industry or whatever. He glanced over at them while speaking and made some effortless, perfect putdown that brought the crowd to cheers.

Seems like the hecklers disapeared after that.

Good times, good times...

all I ever heard about Reagan when I was a kid was the left-inspired moniker “RONALD RAY-GUN.”

No flames from me, I agree with every word.

It is TIME for leadership, not a shell game.

Establishment can go to Hell!

Why the hell does anyone listen to this same crap after all these years?

Those who spout the "conventional wisdom" need to get a new tune because they have been the ones who desperately desire mediocrity and an anemic America.

The Republican bumper sticker: “We suck less than the Democrats!”

So inspiring...

I agree, no more establishment candidates. When the democrats run so-called anti-establishment candidates, they are actually very establishment.

I was in the military when Reagan was running against Carter. I remember being told the polls were closing and I couldn’t vote.

Romney is the Establishment guy. Anyone else in the primary, including Rick Perry, is the anti-Establishment/Romney.

Politics in America have changed drastically since 08 and those who think they can play the same tired old games will pay the price for it.

I hope so. But a depressing number of people seem to still be falling for this old, tired, scam.
